Why I picked Yun Sikdang for a meal with my parents in Masan
I was looking for a good set meal restaurant in Masan and ended up at Yun Sikdang. While searching for somewhere to eat with my parents, I wanted a menu that wasn't too intimidating but still felt like a solid Korean meal — Yun Sikdang seemed like a good fit, so I went!

Located near the Bukmasan furniture district, Yun Sikdang lived up to its reputation as a Masan set meal favorite — the waitlist was packed and there were plenty of customers inside. A lot of them were around my parents' age, out for a family meal, which made me think this place would win my parents over too. There are group tables and baby chairs, so it's a good spot to bring the whole family.

Grilled bulgogi set price and extra orders
What I ordered that day was the grilled bulgogi set! It cost about ₩16,000 per person. The items listed on the menu as extras are all dishes that already come as default banchan (side dishes)! So if you order the set and love one of the side dishes, you can just order more of it. A Naver receipt review is also underway..!

A warm spread of banchan
After ordering the grilled bulgogi set, all these side dishes came out..! I loved that everything was served warm. Steamed egg, young radish kimchi, seasoned mung bean sprouts, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), seasoned crab, braised eggplant, kimchi, corn salad, stir-fried anchovies, seasoned squid — the spread was really neat and varied, right? And it tasted good too!!

And that's not all.. the main dishes came out too — grilled bulgogi, doenjang (soybean paste) stew, salted mackerel, kimchi pancake, and braised abalone.

Smoky grilled bulgogi, braised abalone and kimchi pancake
Bulgogi really is better with a bit of that grilled, smoky flavor. Cooking it on the grill gave the meat a nice char that went perfectly with rice. The sauce was the sweet bulgogi style. The braised abalone was tasty too, and the kimchi pancake was slightly salty, almost like a side dish you'd eat with rice. It was thin and crispy too!

Blue crab doenjang stew, and an extra order of bulgogi
The doenjang stew had blue crab in it, giving it a refreshing, spicy kick. In the end, I ended up ordering another plate of bulgogi haha. Extra rice too!! The portions were plenty generous!!

Parking at the Bukmasan Street public lot
What I liked about the set meal was that I didn't have to agonize over the menu — I got a full meal with a variety of side dishes. When you're looking for somewhere to eat with your parents in Masan, a lot of places either have a too-limited menu or cater mostly to younger crowds, but Yun Sikdang felt like a good option for parents who love Korean food. And parking is easy too, since you can use the Bukmasan Street public parking lot (1 hour free)!

Personally, I have a soft spot for this kind of set meal restaurant. Rather than eating just one dish, it feels like a proper meal when you've got rice plus a bunch of sides to go with it, and when I'm with my parents, I don't have to stress over what to order!! It was a place worth remembering for a hearty Korean meal with my parents, or as a solid lunch spot in Masan. :)
