Bucheon men's hair salon for precise scissor cuts: Ieum
In short
Ieum Men's Hair Bucheon City Hall Station Branch is a men's hair salon in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, opposite Bucheon City Hall Station. My husband received a design cut and side-and-back down perm for around ₩40,000 during the 30% opening event, with a consultation tailored to his styling preferences. Verdict: a great choice for a neat, dandy refresh.

I got a fall-ready down perm and design cut at Ieum Hair, a great spot for men's hair near Bucheon City Hall Station!

What is Ieum Men's Hair near Bucheon City Hall Station like?
Ieum Men's Hair is a newly opened salon on the third floor of the building directly across from Bucheon City Hall Station! I heard its Bupyeong branch is so popular that reservations are difficult, and since the Bucheon City Hall Station branch had only just opened, I quickly booked it through Naver Place and rushed over.

This place truly specializes only in men's hair, and with its opening event—30% off services—you can get your hair done at a genuinely great price without compromising on quality.
Even with the down perm + cut, it came to an unbelievable price in the ₩40,000 range!!

My husband is a renowned salon nomad. His standards for aesthetics are very high, and because he knows how to style his own hair every morning with hair tonic, spray, wax, and so on, he does not just pick any salon based on price alone.

When I first sent him the link, he looked at the director's portfolio (?) and immediately said, “Let's go, okay, go go.” As a woman, I don't really get it (haha), but I guess there is that tiny difference men recognize among themselves.

First of all, it feels almost unfair for a men's-hair specialty salon to have such a clean, pretty interior! I took a photo of myself while waiting for my husband's hair, haha.
What was the consultation before the down perm like?

As expected from a newly opened salon near Bucheon City Hall Station known for specializing in men's hair, Ieum Men's Hair was incredibly thorough from the consultation before the service even began.

They carefully looked into details such as hairstyle, the image he wanted, and how he styles his hair. Rather than the one-way communication with a designer's own fixed vibe (?), it was a consultation that respected his preferences as much as possible!!
The men's cut and down-perm process

They start by washing your hair. First comes the initial cut, then the down perm, and finally a finishing cut!

His hair looked even longer once it was dried... My husband suits a slightly neater, dandy style better than long hair (city-guy style), so it really was well past time for a cut, haha.

A carefully executed scissor cut
The scissor cut impressed both my husband and me!! These days, unless it is a fairly high-end salon, scissor work makes up a very small portion of the cut—or is barely used at all. Apparently, at factory-like (?) salons, more than 80% is often done with clippers...

Why? According to a hairstylist friend... scissor cutting is a much more advanced technique and looks prettier, but it literally wrecks your wrists. But here, they cut so meticulously with scissors and only finished the difficult parts with tiny clippers ㅜㅜ Sob, sob... Is Director Taeho's wrist okay...? That is how incredibly detailed the finished cut was.

Next came the down perm for the sides and back!! Maybe they use good solution, because there was no smell at all. I am writing this a few days after the down perm, and perhaps because the solution was good, my husband said he had noticeably less flaking than at other salons afterward! (He also said it itched less!!)

They washed his hair once more, then gave him the real finishing cut and textured the ends. I mean, are we really allowed to enjoy this kind of luxury for over an hour...? We were both left bewildered... (Please go already...)
Before and after: a down perm on six weeks of grown-out straight hair
Before the down perm
It is more dramatic in the before-and-after photos, but while my husband usually goes to the salon every four to six weeks, this month was packed with work and business trips, so his hair had grown out for almost the full six weeks.

...I mean, people with plenty always have it worse, right? His straight hair is so dense that you cannot see his scalp, so he simply cannot skip regular down perms.
After the down perm

Even with the face blurred, isn't he so handsome? It is true that fashion depends on the face and body (haha), but when the hair is neat, the whole impression instantly looks tidier—so even with his face covered, he gives off that effortlessly good-vibe guy energy...
My overall review of Ieum Men's Hair
Ieum really made me feel that popular places are popular for a reason. I hear there are so many salons these days that just rush through with clippers, but this is a place that gives you a truly customized hairstyle through meticulous scissor cutting. And during the opening event, all of this is in the ₩40,000 range! (Though honestly, even the pre-discount price is already reasonable.) Men's hair usually needs a reset around every month, and I am leaving two huge thumbs-up for Director Taeho at Ieum Men's Hair—a place you can visit without feeling burdened!!
