Bucheon Chinese restaurant’s garlic tangsuyuk: Glory Works
In short
Glory Works is a Chinese restaurant near Sangdong Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. The two-person jjamppong set brings clear, gently spicy noodle soup and crisp-chewy tangsuyuk with garlic sauce, plus easy self-service amenities for kids. Verdict: I’d come back for the garlic tangsuyuk.

It’s already that season when the evenings are chilly! And when it’s like this, you start craving a hot bowl of broth, so I’m here to introduce a great Chinese restaurant in Bucheon!!! I’d visited once before and remembered eating so well, so I came back. It has become one of my repeat spots near Sangdong Station!

A neat Chinese restaurant close to Sangdong Station Exit 8
This is Glory Works, a Chinese restaurant near Sangdong Station in Bucheon. Walk straight out of Exit 8 and you’ll see it right away! It has such a neat, café-like atmosphere that you could miss it while passing by, so keep an eye on the left!

As you’d expect from a popular Sangdong restaurant, there’s even a waiting area. The interior is neat overall and the atmosphere is lovely, so it would be such a great date spot too, right????!!!! Maybe that’s why it was full even on a weekday—I waited a little before going in!

Inside Glory Works, there are about seven four-person tables in total, from comfy sofa seating to wooden tables and chairs.

They’re all four-person tables, and high chairs are ready too, so it’s a good fit for anyone coming with a baby or visiting as a family! Every time I go, there are kids happily eating there haha.

Set orders and an easy self-service bar
Here’s the Glory Works menu. Doesn’t even the menu feel less like a Chinese restaurant and more like you’ve come to a stylish café? Hahahahahahahahaha But don’t worry—the food is delicious! I actually like how neat it is ^______________^

You order through the tablet at your table. I went with a set menu, and it felt like better value than ordering à la carte! If you want jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and tangsuyuk (Korean-Chinese fried pork), try a set.

There’s also a self-service bar in one corner of Glory Works. It has a water dispenser, rice cooker, side-dish containers, and tableware. Just take anything extra that you need!

You can get more danmuji (yellow pickled radish) and zhacai (pickled mustard stem) at the self-service bar too! It can feel a little awkward somehow to ask for more little things like these, so it’s great that you can just help yourself... And everything has lids, so it’s neat.

And I seriously love a Chinese restaurant that gives you rice!!!!!!!!!!!!! They clearly know what they’re doing. When a place is delicious, of course you want to mix in even a spoonful of rice, right? Looking for rice at a Chinese restaurant? From a customer’s perspective, that’s the highest praise.

They also have baby forks and spoons, plus tongs and scissors, so it seems perfect for cutting up tangsuyuk or noodles for kids! Such a thoughtful place.

A clear, gently spicy two-person jjamppong set
I ordered the two-person jjamppong set, which comes with two bowls of jjamppong, tangsuyuk, and a drink. The jjamppong arrived first!! Its clear broth is the standout feature!

The noodles were cooked just right, and there was a nice variety of seafood: mussels, squid, shrimp, and octopus!! The broth was clean-tasting and not too spicy, so I think even people who can’t handle heat could eat it. But it still had a subtle kick that made me want to mix in a spoonful of rice!!!

The reason I came back: garlic tangsuyuk
And honestly, this is why I came back. This place does amazing garlic tangsuyuk............ Crisply fried tangsuyuk with a sweet-and-slightly-bitter garlic sauce!!!!

The coating isn’t thick; it’s crisp and pleasantly chewy. There are big pieces of meat inside too! It isn’t overly hard, so it’s easy enough for kids to eat as well.

And this garlic sauce, unlike anything I’ve had anywhere else, is seriously so good... If you’re a garlic lover, you will absolutely like it.

I also love that it comes with the sauce on the side, haha. The sauce arrives bubbling hot, so be careful at first! Let it cool a little, then dip generously and enjoy haha.

You can get kkotppang (steamed flower-shaped buns) through a review event, so visit and give it a try. I recommend it to anyone looking for a neat Chinese restaurant to visit with kids, or to stop by while on a date!!!!!
