Bucheon Korean BBQ restaurant for family dinner: Cham Dwaejitgan
In short
Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, where staff grill pork at the table. My family shared pork neck, pork jowl, gabrisal, rice, and soybean paste stew in its airy folding-door dining room. Verdict: a comfortable choice for a slow family meal with exceptionally tender pork.

It was getting close to 6 PM on a weekday, and I was suddenly in the mood for grilled meat, so I visited Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch in Sinjung-dong’s dining district. They grill the meat for you, so my family and I had a relaxed dinner in a comfortable atmosphere.
Tender Boseong Nokdon pork. An open, airy dining room with folding doors. The meat is grilled for you (grilling service). Their handmade grill keeps grease from splattering.

An airy restaurant with 120 seats

Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch was incredibly spacious, with enough room for 120 seats.

Both sides of the restaurant have folding doors, making the whole place feel wide open and even more pleasant inside.

The season helped too: a cool autumn breeze was blowing through, and it really had that outdoor Korean BBQ tent kind of feeling. Having a family meal in such an open setting made it even nicer.
Parking tips to know before your visit

I thought restaurant parking was unavailable, so I used a nearby public parking lot. But I was told there is space to park behind the restaurant, so it may be worth checking before you visit. Public street parking nearby is free after 6 PM.
What we ordered and the self-service corner

Signature dishes

We ordered one serving each of flower-cut pork neck, pork jowl, and gabrisal, plus two bowls of rice and soybean paste stew.

The basic spread arrived first with shiitake-wasabi sauce, spicy sauce, assorted side dishes, bean sprouts, kimchi, and minari (water parsley).

The self-service corner was clean, and the ingredients looked fresh too.

You can help yourself to all the side dishes except the minari.

The pork looked deliciously fresh

I ordered the pork neck and pork jowl first, then added gabrisal after we had eaten some.
Light, tender flower-cut pork neck and pork jowl

How does the grilling service work?
Cham Dwaejitgan grills the meat for you. As they cooked the pork neck and pork jowl, they kindly explained each cut, so our family dinner never felt awkward and we could comfortably wait for the meat to cook.

They adjusted the shape and cooking level for each cut, then moved the meat aside once it was perfectly cooked.
Garlic scape pickle, shiitake wasabi, and a potato pork wrap
They made us their signature pork wrap with the nicely cooked pork neck,

and it was several times more tender than any pork neck texture I had known. A subtle rice-husk-smoked aroma lingered too, and I could immediately tell the quality of the meat was good.
Rather than cooking the pork neck until very crisp, they controlled the doneness so it stayed just right, which made it easy for my parents to enjoy as well.
The minari was domestic-grown too, without any tough texture, and its gentle aroma enhanced the flavor of the pork.
Rich, nutty pork jowl

The pork jowl’s savory nuttiness came through right away with all its juices.
You could see at a glance that pork jowl was fattier than pork neck, but it was not greasy at all. Instead, its rich, nutty flavor really stood out.

The owner said pork jowl is especially popular with older diners, and grilled it into cubes that were easy to eat in one bite.
Chewy meat usually makes my jaw hurt, but this was a place where I could feel the tenderness with the very first bite. Even once the meat had cooled, the texture stayed good, so it suited someone like me who eats slowly.
Moist gabrisal grilled over charcoal

Along with the aroma of meat grilling over real charcoal, the gabrisal slowly turns beautifully golden.

Maybe because it was Boseong Nokdon pork, it stayed moist even when grilled crisp, so it seemed easy to enjoy with older family members or children.

Even after carefully grilling the meat, they continued to check on us, which made dinner feel like we were being properly looked after.
Soybean paste stew and rice

Cham Dwaejitgan’s doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) was rich yet clean-tasting, with generous vegetables such as zucchini and onion, making it perfect alongside the meat.
With big pieces of tofu in it, having the hot stew with rice while feeling the autumn breeze made one whole bowl of rice disappear in no time. Haha!

Why it works well for a family meal
- People looking for great samgyeopsal (pork belly) in Bucheon.
- Anyone looking for a Sinjung-dong Station Korean BBQ restaurant for a family gathering or company dinner.
- Anyone looking for a tender Korean BBQ restaurant in Bucheon’s Sinjung-dong area.

We had a proper outdoor Korean BBQ tent-style dinner in Sinjung-dong’s dining district, yet my clothes did not smell like meat on the way home—and it was a flavor I kept thinking about even after getting home. Since it is open 24 hours, feel free to stop by whenever it is convenient.
