Today I'm posting about a Junggye-dong restaurant, an Iberico meat spot and a go-to place to eat in Nowon-gu.

Junggye Gogi Party Nowon Branch

is what I'm writing about~

What kind of Korean BBQ restaurant is Junggye Gogi Party Nowon Branch?

Junggye Gogi Party Nowon Branch is already recognized as a local favorite among residents around the Junggye Eunhaeng intersection, a solid Nowon restaurant. What caught my eye especially was the phrase 'Iberico black pork.' I remembered eating it when I traveled to Spain once, and being able to try it in Seoul too—how great is that~~

Parking and entrance: driving to Junggye Gogi Party for a family dinner

There was a parking space set up in front of the restaurant, so it was convenient to use. Families often come by car for meals out, so having separate parking felt just right for a dinner out.

Before going in, I noticed umbrellas and hand sanitizer set out, which really showed the owner's thoughtfulness.

Seating inside: a large hall that fits group dinners

The inside of Junggye Gogi Party Nowon Branch was super spacious and the tables were spread out well, so we could enjoy a comfortable meal without feeling cramped. It seemed like a good spot for company dinners or family gatherings since it can fit a lot of people.

Side dishes included and the self-serve bar

The basic side dishes were also prepared neatly and in variety, so I was excited to eat even before the food arrived haha

Whole grain mustard, wasabi, and other accompanying sauces

Whole grain mustard, wasabi, shiitake-wasabi bean sprouts, and scallion salad all came out together, so there were many ways to enjoy the meal.

For extra side dishes, you could use the self-serve bar, and it was covered with lids to keep out dust and kept very clean, which made me feel good about it.

Menu lineup: Iberico pork and beef in one meal

There were great-value set menus as well as à la carte items. Best of all, it's a Nowon restaurant where you can enjoy pork and beef together, so we could order all kinds of things.

There were also plenty of hearty meal options like yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), naejangtang (beef tripe soup), and doenjang jjigae, so it seemed like a great place to come for lunch too!!

There was wine and various other drinks available too, so it seemed like a good place to meet up with friends. We ended up ordering the Iberico set and the Premium Beef set!

Charcoal brazier placed on the table

Out came the charcoal to grill everything deliciously, plus melchi jeot—a true meat restaurant!

The Iberico set: charcoal-grilled pork collar and pork jowl

Finally, out came the Iberico pork flower butt and pork jowl, so fresh you could tell right away. Wow,, seriously incredible,, look at that thickness~~ It looked delicious just from the visual alone!!

They put the pork shoulder on the charcoal first. The coals were burning so well! It got that charcoal aroma as it grilled. Plus the smoke vented out around the grill, which was really convenient.

After carefully cutting it, they grilled it once more and it was ready~

I tried it with the tangy bean sprout salad and wasabi on top, and oh. my. goodness. it was so good!! I was genuinely surprised at how delicious it was~ The savory juices spread through my mouth, and it wasn't tough at all—it had this chewy texture that made the pork flower butt amazing. I think kids would enjoy this too.

It also paired well with the melchi jeot, so dipping it in fully made the savory flavor feel even more upgraded.

No need to say more about the nicely browned pork jowl~ Eating it with wild garlic leaves left nothing else to say.

In between, we also had a refreshing glass of baekjjaebaegi (makgeolli-style rice wine)~~ It had a clean taste that paired really well with the meat. Truly pure happiness.

Premium Beef set and beef doenjang jjigae

For the next course, we couldn't skip the beef~haha The freshness was incredible too.

The friendly staff member switched out the grill for a clean one, so we could start fresh with a new mindset haha

Wrapping it in perilla leaves was seriously delicious too~ Being able to enjoy so many things at once made for an even more enjoyable dinner.

The beef doenjang jjigae we ordered as a side was also generously loaded with ingredients, the broth was super rich, and it was the kind of flavor that could finish off a whole bowl of rice. It's definitely a menu item I'll add again next time~ The set we ordered was really solid, and even the stew was delicious—Junggye Gogi Party, a great restaurant to eat at in Nowon :)

Is Junggye Gogi Party worth a visit?

The interior is clean and spacious enough for a comfortable meal without feeling cramped, and it's a place to enjoy great-value Iberico pork. I'll definitely have to come back with friends next time~
