Lately, between work and unexpected personal matters, I’ve had so much on my mind that I’ve often just grabbed whatever for a meal. But today, I was strangely craving Korean food. So I visited Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal, a Korean restaurant near Dongtan Central Park where you can have a hearty, delicious meal!

I visited around 6:30 p.m., and it was so popular that every table inside was already occupied!

It really lived up to its reputation as a great Korean restaurant near Dongtan Central Park! Luckily, just as we came in, one table had finished and left, so we could sit down right away without waiting. Lucky!
A varied, satisfying menu and generous portions
Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal was satisfying for its well-rounded menu and generous portions! Its signature dishes are kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), samgyeop kimchi-jjim (braised pork belly with kimchi), duruchigi (spicy stir-fried pork), and samgyeopsal (pork belly).

There are rolled omelets and set menus that go perfectly with kimchi stew, and best of all, you can order a single serving. That is a huge plus for solo diners or anyone dining together who wants to try several dishes! To sample a little of everything, I ordered pork kimchi braise, a rolled omelet, and soy sauce bulgogi.

Isn’t this spread incredibly generous? Haha.
Pork kimchi braise with extra tofu
Pork kimchi braise ₩11,000 · Extra tofu ₩2,500

The deeply flavored, well-braised kimchi was paired with tender pork belly, and adding extra tofu meant it came piled high with tofu, which made it even better! Such a generous portion for ₩11,000!

It was so good eaten as a three-part bite of tofu topped with kimchi and pork belly!! You could also add a bowl of rice and mix it with the seaweed flakes served among the basic side dishes.

Rolled omelet ₩7,000

The rolled omelet was thick and soft, served with ketchup. It is a side dish that goes perfectly with Korean dishes such as kimchi stew and pork kimchi braise, which is why it is also included in a set menu. The omelet was amazingly thick, so I was really full! That said, it may taste a little salty to those who prefer lighter seasoning.
Soy sauce bulgogi ₩8,000

The soy sauce bulgogi had that classic sweet-and-savory flavor that everyone, young and old, can enjoy without hesitation. All the dishes were reasonably priced, yet the portions were huge, so we could enjoy a very filling meal.

If you run short on side dishes during your meal, you can conveniently use the self-service bar inside. But both the main dishes and sides were so generous that this time, we could not even finish all the basic side dishes we were given. Hahaha.

Even more surprising: the kimchi and meat in the kimchi stew, as well as the pork belly in the kimchi braise, are all domestically sourced!! I have not had many proper meals over the past month, but I could finally eat a hearty meal at Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal. If you are looking for a Korean restaurant near Dongtan Central Park that delivers both taste and generous portions at a practical price, I recommend Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal! With its well-rounded menu and single-serving orders, it is perfect for a hearty lunch or a dinner with a drink.
Parking and restaurant information

There is space to park about four or five cars in front of the restaurant. If the parking spaces are full, it is convenient to use the nearby Gaenari Park Public Parking Lot! There is also a clean restroom inside, which made it really convenient to use.
