It wasn't even a chilly day, nor was I especially craving pho, but then my husband suddenly said, “Let's go to Mibundang today!” It's a place he loves so much that I naturally tagged along, and after eating, I understood why he keeps coming back. It's already well known for pho near Dongtan Station, and there is usually a line—but we timed this visit perfectly.

We arrived around 14:30, just as weekday lunch was almost over, and luckily walked straight in without waiting. I was a little worried because lines form during the lunch rush, but I guess avoiding mealtimes by just a bit really is the answer.

Perhaps because many people come here looking for a good work lunch near Dongtan Station, turnover is quite good too.

A quiet bar-table setting
Mibundang has a fun atmosphere that is a little different from a typical pho restaurant. The tables are bar-style seats facing the kitchen, so you can watch the food being made up close, which is interesting in its own way. The whole place is finished in warm wood tones, and there are even notices asking guests to keep meals quiet.
It isn't the kind of place where people loudly chat across neighboring tables, so it doesn't feel awkward to dine alone, and it's also nice for two people to have a quiet meal. I saw people eating by themselves too, and in this atmosphere, solo dining felt completely doable.
If you're looking for pho near Dongtan Station and want somewhere comfortable rather than noisy, Mibundang seems like a great fit.

Beef brisket pho and assorted fried starters
Before coming in, we ordered two bowls of beef brisket pho at ₩12,500 each and assorted fried starters at ₩8,500. With a side added for two people, it turned into a much more generous spread than I expected.

The bowls look seriously generous, right? They're piled with bean sprouts, with plenty of thin-sliced beef and brisket too. One especially nice thing about Mibundang pho is that extra noodles are free! For a noodle-loving couple like us, that's a surprisingly big perk. If we feel a little short on noodles midway through, we can add more without hesitation, so there was no worry about leaving hungry.
And the beef is really tender. You can see it in the photos: it isn't just a modest topping—there is a very generous amount, so beef comes along with every bite of noodles.
I tend to care more about the meat in pho than the noodles themselves, so I really liked this combination.
This time, the broth tasted a little lighter than usual, which was a slight disappointment. My husband, who has been to Mibundang several times, says it is really delicious on days when the broth comes out rich. It was milder than I expected, but it was still clean and pleasant overall, and with so much beef and bean sprouts, I ended up finishing it all.

How I eat it with cilantro and hoisin sauce
But there is one moment at Mibundang that I love most: when I add cilantro!
If you like cilantro, just ask a staff member and they'll bring some. I love adding lots of it, so I requested it right away that day too.
Add cilantro, pick up noodles, bean sprouts, and beef together, then lightly mix them into the sauce—the flavor changes completely. It's the taste that makes me realize once again why I love cilantro so much.

There are three sauces: hoisin sauce, hot sauce, and chili sauce. My favorite by far is mixing it with hoisin sauce. Add a little hoisin to the noodles, pile on cilantro, and mix it together—the nutty, salty, and fragrant flavors come together into such a treat.

I can't handle spice very well, so if I get greedy with the hot sauce, I start sweating immediately. Even when I add just a tiny bit, the heat really comes through. Yet somehow, that spicy kick is the best stress reliever.

After working up a good sweat while eating, I feel oddly refreshed! If you love spicy food, I think you can enjoy it even more by adding it to your taste.

Assorted fried starters on the side
We also ordered assorted fried starters that day because pho alone felt a little incomplete. At ₩8,500, it came with several kinds of fried items, making it nice to share between two people.
As you can see in the photo, there are several varieties, so it's fun choosing them one by one. There were crisp fried pieces along with nutty, mild ones, and they worked well between bites of pho.

When you keep having pho broth, you sometimes start craving a different flavor halfway through, and one order of assorted fried starters was just right. Two bowls of pho plus a side left us incredibly full. It really felt like we had eaten a proper lunch that day.

Why I want to return for a late lunch
More than anything, the biggest reason I return to Mibundang for pho near Dongtan Station is the generous amount of brisket and thin-sliced beef.
At places with lots of noodles but only a few pieces of meat, I feel a little disappointed as I eat. Here, though, meat comes up with every pick of the chopsticks, which makes it fun to eat.
My husband ate with his usual satisfied expression that day too. I guess favorite restaurants are favorites for a reason. For me, the happiest moment was adding lots of cilantro and mixing it with hoisin sauce. It made me think, “Ah, this is why I come back.”

If you're looking for pho near Dongtan Station, there may be a line at peak times, so it might be worth aiming for a slightly late lunch like we did. Visiting at around 14:30 and walking right in without waiting was especially nice.

The bar-table layout faces the kitchen, and turnover is good, so even if there is a wait, you may get in sooner than expected. It's good for a simple meal alone and has an easy, low-pressure atmosphere for two people to eat quietly as well, making it a place to visit in all kinds of situations.

By the time we finished, I was completely stuffed and the post-lunch sleepiness was slowly rolling in, but somehow I kept thinking about the pho even after going back to work. The broth was a little lighter than usual that day, which was slightly disappointing, but the amount of meat, the noodles, and the overall satisfaction were still good.

So the conclusion is: I think I'll be back! Next time, I'll definitely ask for cilantro again, add lots of it, and mix it into hoisin sauce. If you want a clean yet filling meal near Dongtan Station, and you like pho loaded with beef, this is a Dongtan Station pho spot worth trying at least once.

Mibundang started out as my husband's favorite restaurant, and now it has quietly become a place I find myself thinking about too. Next time, I want to have a proper bowl on a day when the broth comes out rich. I will probably add noodles and still not have enough—then finish every last drop of broth. 😋
