In short
Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is a Korean restaurant near Dongtan Central Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. I had kimchi jjigae, pork duruchigi, and a fluffy rolled omelet for 10,000–11,000 won per serving, plus 7,000 won for the omelet. A filling, great-value Korean meal.

Eating out is seriously expensive these days, right? Even one meal can punch a hole in your wallet.... But I found a truly great spot near Dongtan Central Park where you can enjoy a proper, generous Korean meal in the ₩10,000 range! It’s Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal (양푼이김치찌개&삼겹살)! With spicy kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew), sweet-and-spicy duruchigi (stir-fried pork), and a fluffy giant rolled omelet, I ate until I was stuffed. Let’s get into this honest, fresh-from-the-table review!

A Spacious, Clean Interior and Self-Serve Bar
The moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed by a very clean, comfortable space—none of the thick smoke or greasy stickiness you might expect from a meat restaurant!

There were plenty of seats, from four-person tables to group seating, so I think it would be good for nearby office workers’ team dinners or family gatherings too, haha.

The neatly served basic side dishes included braised black beans, dried shredded radish, and seaweed flakes. At the self-serve bar, I could comfortably help myself to fresh wrap vegetables, seasoned bean sprouts, and sliced onions without feeling self-conscious—so good!

What I Ordered and the Prices
I wanted to try a variety of Korean dishes that day, so this is the satisfying spread I ordered!
- Kimchi jjigae, 1 serving: ₩10,000
- Pork duruchigi, 1 serving: ₩11,000
- Rolled omelet: ₩7,000
Spicy, Refreshing Kimchi Jjigae
The kimchi jjigae arrived bubbling away in an aluminum pot and made an entrance! The first spoonful of broth, generously simmered with Grade 1 domestic fresh pork and well-fermented sour kimchi, naturally brought out a “ahhh~.”

The pork was so big and thick! I cut it into bite-sized pieces, placed it over rice, and sprinkled on seaweed flakes—it was a total rice thief.

The broth wasn’t heavy or muddy; it was spicy and refreshing, the kind of flavor that makes you furrow your brow in sincere appreciation, haha.

Sweet-and-Spicy Pork Duruchigi
The duruchigi, made with domestic fresh pork, was pure moist tenderness with absolutely no unpleasant pork smell! It was totally my style, haha. A man’s soul food!~~~~

The sauce isn’t painfully hot; it has a sweet-and-spicy, addictive savory flavor that really sticks with you. It also comes packed with cheese rice cakes, making it fun to pick through!

Wrap a piece of pork with garlic and seaweed flakes in fresh lettuce and perilla leaf, and you’ve got a meal finished in no time!

A Fluffy Rolled Omelet to Balance the Heat
You’d be disappointed if you skipped the rolled omelet with kimchi jjigae and duruchigi, right?! Look at that incredible thickness and size of the eggs!!! Look at ittttt!!!!!

Dip the fluffy, soft rolled omelet in ketchup and take a bite, and its rich flavor neatly settles the spicy kick of the jjigae and duruchigi, haha.
Final Thoughts
Both the kimchi jjigae and duruchigi use Grade 1 domestic fresh pork, and the quality of the meat was truly excellent. You can have a filling, easy-on-the-stomach meal at a comfortable price in the ₩10,000 range. With free parking out front and a clean, grease-free dining room, I recommend it for gatherings too! If you’re looking for hearty, delicious Korean food near Dongtan Central Park or Gaenari Park, I strongly recommend Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal!
