In short
Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Hopyeong-dong, Namyangju, Gyeonggi, serving 100% domestic Dodram pork frozen pork belly. An indoor vibe that's fine to bring kids to
The moment I walked through the door, the atmosphere felt cozy and retro, yet totally clean. When you hear "frozen pork belly place," you might picture greasy tables or a smoky haze, but here every table was spotless, with not a trace of grease, so bringing the kids along was no problem at all!

Ordering Set 1 — 2 servings of pork belly + 1 serving of pork collar
The first order here has to be at least 3 servings, and since the set menus offer such good value, I didn't hesitate to order Set 1 (2 servings of pork belly + 1 serving of pork collar).

A pork belly place that serves wine by the glass
One really unusual and appealing thing about this place — they sell wine! Not the whole intimidating bottle, but wine by the glass, so you can order it casually. Wine with pork belly (kind of elegant...) but honestly, soju's the classic pairing for pork belly haha.

A delicious corn tea? barley tea? in a retro orange bottle — even the water itself was tasty!!

Side dishes and the kick — egg soy sauce
A great-value Set 1 (2 pork belly + 1 pork collar). The neatly arranged side dishes came out tidily on a retro tray, and every single one was fresh and delicious.

Umami-packed side dishes, plus the standout: egg soy sauce. The basic side dishes were already neat and tasty, but the real kick here was the egg soy sauce! Dip a nicely cooked piece of meat into the golden egg sauce and it's an explosion of savory umami!!

This scallion salad was so good too ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Self-serve bar and steamed egg for the kids
Garlic, peppers, and various other sauces and side dishes are available at the self-serve bar.
And here comes the fluffy steamed egg! Soft and puffed up, this mild steamed egg was great mixed into the kids' rice and eaten alongside the meat.

Pink sausage and a little taste of cheese 😍

Grilling the pork belly and pork collar — minari and mushrooms on the house
Once the grill was properly heated, we started laying on the pork belly and pork collar! The thinly sliced pork belly gave off a savory smell and turned golden brown quickly on the grill, and the pork collar's pale pink flesh looked fresh at a glance.
I tried a bite of the nicely cooked meat and it really was so tender! No dryness at all, just savory juices spreading through my mouth, and truly zero gamey smell! Grilled together on the pan, the fragrant minari (water celery) and plump king oyster mushrooms took the flavor to another level 🖤 A lot of places charge extra for minari or mushrooms these days, but giving them for free... the owner's got great taste 👍

The crisp, fragrant texture of the minari paired with the grilled kimchi was a combination I never got tired of, haha

Dunking the meat deep in egg soy sauce — a real treat.

With this combination, I couldn't resist having a drink,,,,

Side menu — honeycomb pork skin and cheonggukjang
After filling up on the meat, I just couldn't pass up ordering the side dishes — honeycomb pork skin and cheonggukjang — as extras ㅎㅎㅎㅎ
With delicate crosshatch cuts, this was the perfect pork skin — crispy outside, chewy inside!

The more you chew, the more the savory fat and chewy texture come alive — dipped in soybean powder, it made the ultimate drinking snack, haha

A cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) menu you don't often see elsewhere! The rich, savory broth was outstanding — the distinctive pungent smell wasn't overpowering, just deep and flavorful, and it was absolutely packed with ingredients!!!
Wrap-up
In a clean, retro atmosphere, I got to fully enjoy soft, delicious meat with my kids at Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch! If you're in Hopyeong-dong looking for a family dinner spot, a great meat restaurant, or a place for a work gathering, definitely give it a try^^!
