Bulhyangjip, a favorite by Siheung's Mulwang Lake. I'm always trying to figure out where to take my family on an outing — somewhere not too far from Seoul or Gyeonggi that still feels like a change of scenery, and Mulwang Lake won! Since it was around lunchtime too, I wanted a solid meal, so I headed to Bulhyangjip, a charcoal bulgogi spot :) Let me walk through the menu and my visit to this Siheung Mulwang Lake meat restaurant.
Where is Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch? Parking and pets
Bulhyangjip is located inside the food district by Mulwang Lake. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, so it was super convenient to drive around Mulwang Lake, eat at Bulhyangjip, and then hop over to a nearby café!

Behind the restaurant there's a spacious parking lot, so even parking novices can visit without stress. It's a private lot for the restaurant too, so I could eat without worrying about a time limit!

And Bulhyangjip is pet-friendly! If you're looking for a place to eat with your pet, Bulhyangjip has you covered :)
Inside Bulhyangjip: private rooms and how busy lunch gets
The hall at Bulhyangjip is clean and well-kept, without the usual smoke or lingering smell you get at BBQ places. Walk in and a spacious hall greets you! The tables are spaced generously, making it a solid choice for a family meal with parents or kids :)

There's also a private room on one side, perfect for group gatherings.

There's even more space toward the back! I went right when they opened, but after 12pm the place got packed with lunch guests 👀 Sunlight pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows too, keeping the whole place warm and bright, so I could eat comfortably :)
What comes in Bulhyangjip's weekday lunch set, and the price
If you're visiting on a weekday for lunch, the weekday lunch set is the move — you get two servings of either scallion bulgogi or gochujang bulgogi, plus bibim noodles, rice, and doenjang jjigae — ₩5,000 cheaper than ordering separately, so it's pretty good value :)

Or you can order individual dishes à la carte! Pre-grilled pork belly isn't included in the weekday set, so you'd need to order it separately, but you can add it one serving at a time — I'll have to try that next time 🤤

Write a Naver receipt review and you get a free drink :) Don't miss that little perk!
Side dishes and the self-serve wrap vegetable bar
The basic table setting at Bulhyangjip comes with kimchi, salad, namul (seasoned vegetables), seasoned bean sprouts, pickles, and wrap vegetables.

If you run out, you can grab more from the self-bar as much as you want! Generous portions, clean side dishes, and above all a really wide variety of wrap vegetables, which made it great for wrapping the bulgogi in a lettuce wrap :)

How spicy is the gochujang bulgogi? About spice level 1
Our gochujang bulgogi arrives! I can't even handle Buldak spicy noodles, but this gochujang bulgogi was about spice level 1 — barely spicy at all :)
The best part was that the meat comes already grilled, so there's no need to sweat over the grill yourself! Your clothes don't soak up as much smell either, and best of all, you can dig in right away ✨

The seasoning soaks all the way into the meat, and it's just the right sweet-and-spicy balance, whether you eat it over rice or wrapped in fresh vegetables 🤤

Bibim noodles and the grandma-style doenjang jjigae
This bibim noodles (spicy mixed noodles) pairs perfectly with the meat! Ice cubes floating on top — such a nice touch in this hot weather.

It's great on its own, but wrapping a piece of smoky bulgogi around the noodles and eating it in one bite is a must — one bite of meat, one bite of bibim noodles ✨

We also ordered the country grandma-style doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and true to its name, it had that rich, savory broth flavor like grandma made it 👍 It made me finish a whole bowl of rice in no time 😂

What does the scallion bulgogi taste like?
After the gochujang bulgogi, I was curious about the soy-sauce-style scallion bulgogi 👀 It comes with sweet, savory charcoal bulgogi piled high with scallions 👍

The sweet soy bulgogi paired with the sharp, clean bite of the scallions gave it a totally different appeal from the gochujang version — much lighter and cleaner to eat.
Cutting up some chili peppers into that soy sauce was seriously a killer move.. 👏 Glad I took the recommendation to try it that way haha

Kids and parents alike can enjoy this without any complaints, making it a great spot for a family meal with anyone. If you're looking for a meat restaurant by Mulwang Lake in Siheung, give Bulhyangjip a try!
