Hanam restaurant for a family jjukkumi lunch: Jigueseo On Jjukkumi

In short

Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Hanam, Gyeonggi, serving jjukkumi and rice cooked in a stone pot. At a weekday lunch with my parents, the ₩13,000 set came with plump jjukkumi, pollack roe, perilla oil, and side dishes, followed by coffee and ice cream in the garden. A filling, relaxed family meal at a great price.

Full jjukkumi stone-pot rice set

When you are looking for a hearty lunch in Hanam with your parents, you naturally want somewhere with good prices and a solid menu, right? Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch, the Hanam jjukkumi spot I visited this time, served a whole tableful—from jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) and stone-pot rice to lots of side dishes—for just ₩13,000 per person, so it was such good value 😊 Even at weekday lunch, it was packed, and I thought, wow, this place is more famous than I expected! The jjukkumi in particular was really big and plump. My parents enjoyed it too, so I would love to come back with the family 💕!

The address is 5 Seohanam-ro 390beon-gil, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and hours are 11:00–21:00. Dedicated restaurant parking is available too.

What were the exterior and interior like?

We visited with my parents for weekday lunch. Since the location felt a little out of the way, I thought it would be quiet on a weekday, you know? But I was so surprised when we went in because there were really so many diners 😂

Garden-like space in front of the restaurant

There was also a garden-like area out front, which I loved 🌿 It did not feel like a place where you simply eat and leave; it felt nice to linger for a bit after the meal. We had coffee and ice cream outside after eating and took a short break. It had such a lovely atmosphere for an unhurried meal with parents ☕🍦

Outdoor space for relaxing after a meal

There are private rooms inside too, and it looked like someone was having a birthday party there, haha. There were balloons up!

Even for weekday lunch, nearly every table was full, so it seemed this was already quite a well-known jjukkumi restaurant around Hanam. I thought there might even be a wait at weekend lunchtime. They are also currently giving out free Hangang ramen for a receipt review!

Perilla oil model at the entrance

Maybe because this place is known for using mill-pressed perilla oil, there was even a model bottle of it at the entrance, haha. It looked like they sell the real thing too!

Jjukkumi stone-pot rice set menu and prices

The signature mill perilla oil jjukkumi stone-pot rice set is ₩13,000 per person. The three of us visited with my parents and ordered three sets, for a total of ₩39,000. I really thought it was great that stone-pot rice was included at this price, not just jjukkumi 👍 It also came with a variety of side dishes, including seaweed soup, pollack roe, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), and salad.

  • East Sea fresh cod soup (clear broth) — ₩15,000
  • Monkfish soup with clams (clear broth) — ₩15,000
  • Seafood scallion pancake — ₩15,000
  • Gorgonzola pizza — ₩12,000
  • Braised monkfish: small ₩51,000 / medium ₩61,000 / large ₩71,000
  • Braised seafood: small ₩58,000 / medium ₩68,000 / large ₩78,000

There are also steamed dishes that are good when you visit as a group. Still, if it is your first visit, I would recommend trying the ₩13,000 perilla oil jjukkumi stone-pot rice set first! It is the signature menu, after all, haha.

I mean, it is only ₩13,000 per person, but is this not seriously such incredible value..?!

Side dishes with the jjukkumi stone-pot rice set

The little cup is perilla oil; when the jjukkumi comes out, you mix it into the rice with it!

The other side dishes included japchae, salad, seaweed soup, and even pollack roe, haha.

Nothing was soggy and it was all so delicious that we got a refill once more, haha.

What I remember most here was not only the price, but how big and plump the jjukkumi itself was! 🐙❤️ Instead of little bits of jjukkumi, every piece was generously sized. It was not just me thinking that—my dad tried it and agreed that the jjukkumi was really big, haha.

And with stone-pot rice too, this is a combination that simply cannot be bad 💙🥹

They give you the perilla oil separately, and you just add it to the jjukkumi and rice and mix it all together. The nutty fragrance of the perilla oil with the spicy jjukkumi seasoning was such a good match.

Put jjukkumi on the rice, add a little pollack roe, then drizzle in a touch of perilla oil and mix—it is spicy, salty, and nutty all at once 😋 With so many side dishes, it really felt like having a proper full Korean spread. I also truly loved that stone-pot rice was included 🍚

These days, even a standard Korean set meal often costs in the mid-₩10,000s, so I think the biggest advantage is being able to have such plump jjukkumi and stone-pot rice together for ₩13,000. The rice itself was hot and delicious, and it went so well with the jjukkumi.

Finish by making sungnyung (scorched-rice tea), and it is perfect!!

They even had ice cream and a coffee vending machine for dessert, so we could really eat as if we were enjoying a full, perfect course 💚

A Hanam lunch I want to revisit with my parents

I could see why it was full of diners even at weekday lunch. For ₩13,000 per person, we could have big, plump jjukkumi, stone-pot rice, seaweed soup, and a variety of side dishes, so the value was truly good 👍 I especially remember mixing the jjukkumi and rice with perilla oil and pollack roe. My parents enjoyed it, and I am planning to visit again too 😊 There may be more people at weekend lunch than on weekdays, so it may be best to come with a little extra time. If you are looking for a Hanam jjukkumi restaurant for a hearty meal with your parents, I recommend Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch 🐙💕
