Seongnam shopping pop-up Hyrox shoe grip test: DARIMATI

My exercise-loving husband and I went to Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch over the weekend! A brand that’s apparently super hot among people doing CrossFit and Hyrox lately had opened its first Korean pop-up.

DARIMATI, the Hyrox shoe brand said to have already sold out in the U.S., is a hybrid shoe brand. Seeing it in person, the energy of the store alone immediately caught my eye~

The pop-up was running on the fourth floor of U-PLEX, and even the interior was designed to get you pumped to work out! There were lots of models on display, so it was really fun to look around, haha.

The Chuseok special offers available only on-site were really good too~ There was even a package with one pair of BR-001s, a cap, and insoles, which seemed perfect for beginners!

The pricing seemed reasonable with the pop-up-only gifts included, which may be why there were so many people browsing~ We also started seriously picking out shoes for my husband to try on, haha.

BR-001 fit and grip for Hyrox

The first model we looked at was, of course, DARIMATI’s signature BR-001! My husband was really excited because he heard that Ha Su-hyeon, the number-one CrossFit athlete, actually wears these shoes too, haha.

After trying them on, he said the secure feeling around his feet was on another level~ With DARIMATI Hyrox shoes, you are not just running; there are lots of movements pushing and pulling heavy things, so grip is more important than anything!

We joined the 30-second rowing-machine challenge too

There was also a 30-second rowing-machine challenge you could join on-site, and my husband must have gotten competitive because he rowed incredibly hard, lol.

He locked his feet firmly into the rowing machine and gave it a pull, then said it was amazing how his feet did not slide around and how strongly they supported him against the ground!! You could get a lucky-draw entry ticket for reaching the target score, so everyone was really eager to take part!

Sadly, we won a ₩1,000 discount coupon, but taking part itself was such a fun experience, haha. If you love working out, I really think you should not miss an event like this~

When you do something like a sled push, if your feet slide on the floor, it is hard to transfer your strength properly, right? Among people trying them on at the pop-up, “They don’t slip” was by far the comment I heard most often! They were not simply stiff shoes either; as hybrids designed with running in mind, the cushioning felt just right too~ I heard sizes 270 and 280 had already sold out online, and I could immediately see why they are so popular!

This pop-up was also the first place to unveil the new VT-001 and BR-001 Core Black models!

Core Black comes in sizes up to 300, giving people with larger feet more options~

Trying them on and choosing gray

We spent quite a while deciding between beige and gray~ To me, the sophisticated gray looked much prettier, so I strongly recommended gray to my husband, haha.

It is a color that goes easily with any outfit when worn, so the design would work beautifully not only for exercise but also for everyday wear! The more my husband tried them on, the more he liked them, and he ultimately chose gray~

The DARIMATI BR-001 Hyrox shoes were neatly boxed up!! Even after getting home and looking at them again, we were happy with both the design and the performance~ If you are preparing for a November competition or looking for proper training shoes, I definitely recommend visiting the Pangyo pop-up, haha.
