Seongnam department-store pop-up for Hyrox shoes: DARIMATI BR-001
In short
DARIMATI is a hybrid running-shoe brand holding its first Korean pop-up on the fourth floor of Hyundai Department Store Pangyo Branch in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. I tried on the BR-001, checked its stability on a rowing machine, and picked up a short-brim cap for about ₩10,000. Verdict: A worthwhile stop for runners who want to compare lightness and stability in person.

The pop-up atmosphere, from shoes to books

There was plenty to browse in the store besides shoes, including caps, T-shirts, and books.

The most eye-catching thing was the huge rowing machine in the middle of the store. It was less difficult than I expected and totally doable, haha. Everyone, give it a try~!

BR-001 and information on the new models

DARIMATI is a hybrid running-shoe brand that launched first in the United States and sold out there. This Pangyo pop-up is its first store in Korea, which made it especially meaningful in itself. Its signature BR-001 is known as a Hyrox shoe chosen by Ha Su-hyeon, the top-ranked CrossFit athlete, and I hear it has been drawing lots of interest among people who work out.

Hyrox in particular involves not only running but also movements such as sled work, lunges, and rowing, so traction and stability matter in a shoe, apparently. The Hyrox shoes in sizes 270 and 280 sold out both online and at the venue, so I could really feel their popularity.

At this pop-up, the new BR-001 Core Black color was introduced in sizes up to 300, while the follow-up VT-001 model, which emphasizes an even lighter feel, was revealed for the first time through pre-orders.
How the BR-001 felt after trying it on and walking around

The design is simple and the color is easy to wear, so I thought it would go with anything. I tried it on in the store and walked around in it for quite a while. It felt so light and comfortable that I could barely notice its weight.

According to the brand, the key to these Hyrox shoes is traction that keeps your feet from slipping even in movements that push hard against the ground, such as a sled push. Even when I stood briefly on the rowing machine, my feet felt securely held in place.

The description of them as hybrid shoes made for running, pushing, and pulling rather than simple running shoes seemed right to me.

The short-brim cap I picked up too
I also brought home a cap with the shoes, and it was about ₩10,000.

I do not usually wear short-brim caps, so it felt a little unfamiliar at first. But the more I wore it, the more its simple design caught my eye. The fabric is thin, so it seemed perfect for running too.
My overall take on the DARIMATI Pangyo pop-up

It was a great opportunity to try on Hyrox shoes that sold out in the United States and were even chosen by a CrossFit athlete. The light feel and secure traction impressed me most, and picking up the cap too made for a satisfying visit.

They say there will also be hands-on events for children to enjoy on weekends, so if you are interested, it may be worth contacting the store in advance and planning your visit. If you are near Pangyo and planning to buy new running shoes, I recommend stopping by the DARIMATI pop-up at least once.
