Pangyo Korean BBQ pork neck comparison at Dwaeji Mansion

I visited Dwaeji Mansion (돼지맨숀) while looking for a good Korean BBQ restaurant in Pangyo. Located at Pangyo Avenue France, it is easy to get to, and best of all, the staff grill the high-quality meat deliciously themselves, so it is a comfortable place to eat. That day, we ordered Korean pork neck and Iberico pork neck to compare the two, and I was happy with both : )

Dwaeji Mansion Pangyo Avenue France location and parking

Dwaeji Mansion is on the first floor of Avenue France at 25 Dongpangyo-ro 177beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam. It is about a five-minute walk from Exit 1 of Pangyo Station, so it is convenient to visit by public transit too.

It is on the street-facing side of the first floor of Avenue France, so it was not difficult to find after going into the building.

You can park free for up to three hours in the Avenue France parking lot. The lot may be full on weekends or at mealtimes, but in that case you can use the Hanshin Church parking lot, just so you know haha.

A spacious, pleasant dining room

Once inside, the restaurant felt more spacious and tidy than I expected. The tables were relatively well spaced too, so we could eat comfortably without feeling packed in beside the next table.

The overall atmosphere was pleasant, making it a nice place for a meal with your partner, a family dinner out, or a gathering with friends.

There were plenty of tables, so I thought it would also work well as a company dinner spot for a larger group.

Pangyo Avenue France itself is a nice place for dates or gatherings, and Dwaeji Mansion has an atmosphere where you can relax over delicious meat, so it seems good for all kinds of occasions.

High chairs were available, and if there is a wait, you can make a reservation through Catchtable.

There were so many celebrity signatures on one wall haha. It seems like a popular Pangyo restaurant that lots of people visit!

A menu with pork neck and Iberico options

Dwaeji Mansion offers a range of meats, including samgyeopsal (pork belly), pork neck, Iberico pork neck, and Iberico rib meat. Being able to try Iberico alongside regular pork makes choosing different cuts part of the fun.

There were plenty of side dishes that go well with meat too. In particular, dishes such as herring roe bibimbap and baek kimchi noodles seemed great for having alongside the meat now and then.

Comparing Korean pork neck and Iberico pork neck

That day, we ordered one serving each of Korean pork neck and Iberico pork neck. Ordering two different pork neck cuts was nice because we could compare their flavors and textures.

The sauces and banchan (Korean side dishes) to enjoy with the meat were varied and delicious too.

The herring roe salted sauce, fish sauce, wasabi, and other sauces that boost the savory flavor were really appealing.

The seasoned scallion salad was really tasty too! It was spicy and tangy, and went so well with the meat.

The two beautifully marbled cuts arrived with various vegetables. This one was the Iberico pork neck, and this one was the Korean pork neck.

My favorite thing once the meat arrived was that the staff grilled it from start to finish, keeping it in the perfect state to eat.

They cut the meat into thick pieces and grilled it, along with vegetables such as garlic, scallions, and mushrooms, so we could eat comfortably. The Iberico pork neck was especially thick, so rather than grilling it quickly, they let it rest, giving it a crisp exterior and moist interior.

One bite revealed lots of juices and a lovely nutty flavor.

The grilled vegetables were delicious on their own, but dipping them in fish sauce as the staff recommended added a different savory note that I personally loved.

I first tried the meat with the grilled salt, which was great for tasting its clean, natural flavor. Add wasabi, pickled ginger, or seasoned scallion salad, and you can enjoy it in another way.

After trying both the Korean pork neck and Iberico pork neck, I could notice subtle differences. The Korean pork neck was delicious too, with a clean flavor and plenty of juices, but the Iberico pork neck was a little nuttier with a richer, meatier aroma.

Personally, I would recommend ordering both and comparing them. They are both pork neck, but their flavors differ a little, which makes it fun to choose according to your taste.

Above all, even though the meat was thick, it was not tough; the outside was nicely grilled and the inside stayed moist, which was satisfying. The more I chewed, the more nutty meatiness and juices came through, and I could see why this is the kind of place people look for when seeking good meat in Pangyo.

The grilled minari (water celery) and herring roe salted sauce were really delicious with the meat.

Baek kimchi noodles for dessert

We also ordered baek kimchi noodles, which are good alongside the meal or as a dessert. The cool, tangy, lightly spicy broth was so refreshing and delicious. The noodles had a nice texture too, and soaking them in the broth made them totally heavenly!

If you want to properly enjoy delicious pork at Pangyo Avenue France, I recommend Dwaeji Mansion ♥ It was a satisfying Pangyo meat restaurant where I could comfortably enjoy thick, juicy pork neck!
