I went on a date in Seongsu for the first time in a while. While looking for somewhere to have lunch, I came across Marblejeong.
Visit before 2pm and you can get their grade 1+ mixed Korean beef grill at a 20 percent discount, and the upscale vibe pulled me in too — this is a Korean beef spot in Seongsu worth knowing about.
Where Marblejeong is and how to get there from Ttukseom Station

Marblejeong (마블정) is on the 2nd floor at 57 Seongsuil-ro, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The clean black-and-gold combination made even the walk up feel upscale.
It's an easy walk from Ttukseom Station, and there's parking space next to the restaurant if you're driving.
Inside Marblejeong: a hall for 56 and an outdoor terrace
Walk straight in through the entrance and the open hall opens up in front of you. From outside you can't see in much, but from inside the view out is great.

There are plenty more seats further back than what's shown in the video.

With room for up to 56 people, it's a generous space for gatherings or company dinners.

There's also an outdoor space where you can take a break.

There's a wine-bar-like space and an area where the meat is aged, too.
What's on the Marblejeong menu

Marblejeong's menu ranges widely — Korean beef courses, mixed grills, à la carte, Korean pork dishes, lunch specials, and summer-only items.
There's also a solid range of drinks, highballs and whiskey included, worth checking out.
Grade 1+ mixed Korean beef grill and doenjang sul-bap

Even the basic table setting came out neat and tidy at this Korean beef spot in Seongsu.

Even the leaf greens were really fresh. Normally I pick at lettuce a few times and give up, but I finished all of it.

Side dishes to go with the meal came out too,

and there were 6 different dipping sauces. Sauce lover fully satisfied!!
Of these, the sweet-and-salty handmade soy sauce and the mushroom wasabi sauce that gave a little sting to the nose were especially good.

Sirloin and the cut of the day, jebichuri
The first cut we ate was the sirloin.
Marblejeong provides grilling service, so you can just relax and eat.
The doneness was a total pro's touch!

Juicy and nutty, the sirloin is the cut that comes to mind first when you think of Korean beef.
The grade 1+ mixed grill comes with sirloin, beef brisket, and today's cut — on this visit, today's cut was jebichuri (skirt meat near the diaphragm).
The springy jebichuri had a chewy texture. Pair it with the soft mushroom sauce or crisp lettuce and the texture play doubles the fun. Eating it together with the nutty sirloin is a good move too.

An all-beef sam-hap built around brisket
The beef brisket is fatty and bursts with nuttiness.
Because it's thin, grilling each side for just 3 seconds gives you a perfectly cooked piece.
We'd saved some sirloin and jebichuri for this exact moment. Instead of lettuce wraps, we made a meat(-only) sam-hap (three-way combo) wrapped in beef brisket haha — full of nuttiness and juice!

Korean beef really is delicious no matter how you eat it. Onions, button mushrooms, and roasted garlic too — chomp chomp.

The side items that kept showing up in the photos above were grilled together with the meat. I usually don't like asparagus because of the bitterness, but this had almost none, so I ate it happily.

Finishing the meal with doenjang sul-bap
Meat without carbs at the end feels like something's missing. After some deliberation between rice and noodles, we went with rice.

Loaded with tofu, enoki mushrooms, potato, and more, the doenjang sul-bap had an outstanding savory flavor too.

Rice and meat are always the best pairing.
