Jisan-dong Korean BBQ with kids in Pyeongtaek: Jugeokjip

Where is Jugeokjip, and where do you park? 5 minutes from Songtan Station

I visited Jugeokjip, a Jisan-dong favorite just 5 minutes by car from Songtan Station, and also 5 minutes from the Songtan branch office :)

There's a separate parking lot on the left side of the building, and they said you can also park in the lot with the gray-green sign -!

Partitioned seats and group tables at Jugeokjip: how does it work with a child?

The interior of Jugeokjip felt clean and tidy overall, and each table had a partition, giving a sense of separation from the next table.

There's also group seating further inside, so it seems like it'd be great for a company dinner too!

Unlimited free soju at Jugeokjip: what's actually included?

And Jugeokjip's biggest perk — unlimited free soju ^__^🤍 10 bottles, 100 bottles, doesn't matter, it's free!! Free!!👏 Just keep in mind this only applies to soju, not beer or other liquor,,

Since I'd booked through Naver Reservation, the table was already neatly set when we arrived. There were all kinds of side dishes too, so my kid and I nibbled on this and that even before the meat came out.

Jugeoksal for two, and the discount on extra orders

The meat we ordered that day was two servings of the signature jugeoksal (spoon meat)! Also, after the first order (based on headcount), any additional meat you order — even a different cut — comes at a discounted price. Seriously great value,,

Free seasoned crab when you book Jugeokjip on Naver Reservation

And if you book through Naver Reservation, you get free yangnyeom gejang (seasoned raw crab) too — look at that massive portion,,! According to the sign, it's made using a recipe from a 5-star hotel -?! The sweet, spicy sauce soaked nicely into the crab meat, and it wasn't just salty — it had real depth, perfect with rice and meat.

They grilled the jugeoksal on the tabletop grill until nicely browned :) I cut a well-cooked piece small for my kid, and got a big thumbs up with an 'it's so good' — officially a Jisan-dong, Songtan favorite.

What cut is jugeoksal, and how does it taste?

Apparently it's a specialty cut, with only one piece coming from between the ribs -! It's quite different from the usual pork belly or pork neck I normally eat. Chewing it, there's a slightly firm, springy texture, and the bite is really something ~ There's also a subtle, savory meaty aroma, and I kept reaching for more haha. So good ~

What's on Jugeokjip's self-bar: tteokbokki to wrap vegetables

And another perk of Jugeokjip — the self-bar 〰️ It's stocked with all kinds of things: tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), soup, marshmallows, corn, plus various side dishes and lettuce wraps. There were several things my kid could eat too, so it was handy to grab bits and pieces in between bites of meat haha.

The yukhoe (beef tartare) we added on the side

We also ordered yukhoe (beef tartare) as an extra. They say it's managed under three principles — delivered same-day, prepared same-day, used up same-day — so only fresh yukhoe is served -! It really did have a clean taste with no off smell, and a soft texture I loved. Honestly one of the freshest, best yukhoe dishes I've had recently,,👏

There was also free ice cream, so we each picked one to finish off the meal nicely -!

Chuseok gift sets spotted on the way out

On the way out, I noticed they had Chuseok holiday gift sets set up ahead of the holiday :) It's nice that you can come for a meat dinner and also pick up a holiday gift for family or close friends at the same time! If you're looking for gift sets, it might be worth a look ~

Overall, the meat was delicious and it was a great-value meal at Jugeokjip — especially nice since there's so much to enjoy alongside the meat, we left full and satisfied ~! If you're looking for a good-value Korean BBQ spot in Songtan or a Jisan-dong favorite, give Jugeokjip a try :)
