I had jugeoksal (shoulder blade pork) a few days ago and it was so good I couldn't stop thinking about it! When you want it, you have to eat it. Turns out there's a Jugeokjip near my house! It's right by Songtan Market! Delicious jugeoksal, meat prices that get cheaper the more you order, a spacious dining room, kind staff, and free soju!! No reason not to go. Anyone in Pyeongtaek's Songtan, Godeok New Town, Songbuk-dong, or Sinjang-dong craving meat, let's head to Jugeokjip!!

Jugeokjip's menu and how the extra-order discount works

Jugeokjip lets you try a huge range of cuts, from the signature jugeoksal and udaegalbi to fresh pork belly, pork ribs, and beef ribs. And here's the kicker — once you order enough for your headcount, any additional meat orders come at a discounted price!!

With 4 people, you start with 4 servings of pork belly, and after that, even extra orders of jugeoksal or udaegalbi get the discounted price applied. Big eaters, give it a try~ I started with the delicious jugeoksal first!! haha

The extra-order meat discount is already a wild deal, but the even wilder part is unlimited free soju!! A bottle of soju costs 5,000-6,000 won these days... free is unreal!! This is a sacred site for people who love to drink!!

The combo actually ordered: jugeoksal, seasoned pork ribs and mul-naengmyeon

I visited Jugeokjip because I kept thinking about jugeoksal! I ordered a serving of jugeoksal, then thought, should I try the pork ribs too? Let's order both!

Table set up at Jugeokjip

The table filled up in no time once we ordered. It wasn't just a lot of variety — the dishes themselves looked so appetizing and generous! While waiting for the meat, we started with japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) and macaroni salad, then went back to the self-bar for refills.

The meat is delicious, the restaurant is comfortable, and even the self-bar is run cleanly. It was great being able to freely grab lettuce wraps and top up on side dishes whenever we needed more!

How to grill jugeoksal at Jugeokjip

Finally, it arrives! The special cut jugeoksal and seasoned pork ribs! Even raw, the meat itself looks gorgeous~ There's no way this isn't delicious.

The moment I saw the meat, the meat-monster in me flipped again! First, all the jugeoksal goes on the grill!! I'll eat it and just order more~ hahaha The more you eat, isn't that a win for a BBQ place? haha

As anyone who knows their meat can tell you, jugeoksal shouldn't be overcooked. You want to cook it just enough to enjoy the juicy tenderness and chewy texture at the same time. Cook it well, slice it, put some myeolchijeot (fermented anchovy sauce) on the charcoal too... now it's time to eat~

Even eaten plain, the meat is so savory it fills your whole mouth — delicious. Dip it in salt and you know your food! Dunk it in myeolchijeot and it's paradise!! I told myself I wouldn't drink even with free soju... but eating jugeoksal this good makes me crave soju again~ haha Soju tastes even better when it's free!! Order it!!

With mustard leaf pickles, onions, and napa cabbage brought over from the self-bar, there's plenty to pair it with. However you eat it, whichever way, it's a blast!!!

Once we finished the jugeoksal, we grilled the seasoned crab in between, then moved on to the next contender, pork ribs.

Personally, jugeoksal is my absolute favorite! My partner said the sweet seasoned pork ribs were delicious... it's a flavor kids would fall in love with, haha.

We ordered another cold free bottle of soju!! and went for the sweet pork ribs as a side dish~ The plan was actually to eat 2 servings of this and go back to jugeoksal... but after loading up on tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), corn, and vegetables from the self-bar, we were already stuffed. Maybe we should have gone straight for 2 servings of jugeoksal from the start haha

Finishing the meal with icy mul-naengmyeon

For the final course, we ordered mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup)! Figuring it would pair perfectly with the pork ribs... while waiting for the noodles, we ate the grilled corn and had a truly enjoyable meal. As expected, the icy, tangy mul-naengmyeon and pork ribs were a match made in heaven! If you're going with kids and family, I recommend the pork ribs! If it's just adults, I'd personally just demolish the jugeoksal alone~

Jugeokjip is located near Songtan Market, so it's easy to get to from Songtan, Godeok New Town, Sinjang-dong, and Ichung-dong. We went for an early dinner and the place was already full of happy people enjoying sizzling meat.

Jugeokjip's dining hall full of customers

The interior is huge, so it's perfect for family meals, group gatherings, or company dinners... and the gaps between tables are practically Pacific-Ocean-sized, making for a really comfortable meal. With so many people around, there's just enough white noise that even if my voice got a bit loud, it got drowned out — which was also nice. haha

Jugeokjip's spacious table layout

There's also a somewhat separated, room-like space, which is great for small, medium, or large gatherings... go ahead and make a reservation~

I already knew Jugeokjip's jugeoksal was delicious and visited to have it again, so my confidence in the meat quality was already full! But then there's free soju! The self-bar! Super kind staff plus a pleasantly buzzed atmosphere!! It was a very satisfying Songtan BBQ restaurant. Anyone craving meat!! Highly recommend Jugeokjip!!
