Straw-fire-grilled meat on Na Hye-seok Street in Ingyedong

It had been a while, so we took a little trip out to Suwon and Ingyedong! For dinner, we decided on Golden Cheese Lotte Department Store Myeongdong Branch near Na Hye-seok Street in Ingyedong :) It is a place where you can enjoy meat full of that straw-fire aroma, so I thought I’d introduce it to anyone looking for dinner in Ingyedong.

There are so many barbecue places these days that we spent ages deciding where to go, but this one has staff grill the meat after it has been par-cooked over straw fire, so I thought it would be good to visit with a child too!

We went early in the evening, so I thought it would still be quiet,,? But when we arrived, the restaurant was already packed with people. Ingyedong really is different once evening comes around,,

From straw-fire pork belly and pork neck to prime beef ribs and yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), there was a nice variety of meat dishes, so it is great for a group to choose according to everyone’s tastes too,, 👍

They were also running a receipt-review event: write a review and you can receive a guacamole tortilla!

After debating what to eat for ages, we properly ordered straw-fire pork belly, straw-fire pork neck, and yukhoe that day :)

The basic side dishes came out one by one, and there were quite a few jang and sauce options to enjoy with the meat. The ones that caught my eye were seed soy sauce, angelica pesto, and neungi mushroom pesto! These are such a total game changer. Sooo good on the meat,,

It was convenient that we could take as many extra vegetables as we needed from the self-serve bar on one side too.

Why it was easy to visit with a child

Since we visited with a child, they brought out children’s utensils and a high chair too. One thing I liked about Golden Cheese Lotte Department Store Myeongdong Branch in Suwon’s Ingyedong was that the staff grill the par-cooked meat themselves. When you take a child to a barbecue restaurant, you are often frazzled grilling the meat, but since they grilled it for us, it was much easier to eat while looking after our child.

As the staff grilled the meat, they made us a wrapped bite with grilled rice cake + grilled kimchi + straw-fire pork neck, and honestly, it was ridiculously delicious,,

Following the staff member’s recommendation, I also tried adding a little angelica pesto and neungi mushroom pesto, and those went incredibly well with the meat too. The seed soy sauce especially was not too salty and was seasoned just right, so my younger sibling became totally obsessed with it, haha,,

And of course, we could not leave out the yukhoe, heh. The portion was generous, it was seasoned just right, and it was delicious. It was good alongside the meat and perfect as a drinking snack too!

True to its reputation as a great place for company dinners in Ingyedong, there were so many people coming for group dinners once evening arrived, and I also saw lots of couples on dates and families. With such a varied menu, it is easy for a larger group to pick what each person likes, and the atmosphere suits having a drink with good meat, so I could see why people look for it as an Ingyedong group-dinner spot. It would also be nice for a date where you can slowly enjoy your meat and talk, and it felt relaxed enough for a family meal out too. We had a lovely evening, properly enjoying delicious meat and yukhoe, and even took a small cheers photo ♡ If you are looking for a date or group-dinner spot in Ingyedong, save Golden Cheese Lotte Department Store Myeongdong Branch as somewhere to enjoy good meat and spend time comfortably :)
