Yangju Korean BBQ restaurant for crisp pork jowl: Manpo Garden
In short
Manpo Garden is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Yangju, Gyeonggi, serving handmade galbi and pork. I visited with my mom for handmade Korean pork galbi, pork jowl, and naengmyeon; the side dishes, free desserts, and family-friendly rooms all impressed us. Verdict: A place I would gladly revisit with my parents.

Finding Manpo Garden in Yangju with my mom
- Ideal for dining with parents and family gatherings in Yangju
- High-quality pork belly, pork jowl, and charcoal-grilled galbi
- An atmosphere that makes you feel properly treated
- Somewhere I want to visit again

On a day out in Yangju, I ended up visiting Manpo Garden, a galbi spot, for dinner with my mom. In short, it was one of the most delicious places she has eaten at lately—she loved it so much that she said she wanted to bring her friends. It was my parents’ pick, and I was incredibly satisfied too; I definitely want to come back.
Where is Manpo Garden, and what is it like inside?
It is on the first floor at 28-37 Godeok-ro 355beon-gil, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily from 11:00 to 22:00. Parking is available; see below for the location details.

The “Manpo” in Yangju galbi restaurant Manpo Garden means “to give generously.” Once I visited, I could really feel that spirit.
Spacious tables and tidy private rooms

The tables are set a comfortable distance apart, making this a great place for anything from two people to a larger group. The interior feels polished overall.
There are private rooms to the left of the entrance. I would recommend them if you want a cozy family atmosphere. The rooms are so clean and refined that, on the day I visited, some guests were holding a birthday gathering for their parents there. With prices that feel suitable for bringing your parents and such an elegant atmosphere, I strongly recommend it.
Ordering handmade galbi and pork jowl

Beyond handmade galbi, Manpo Garden also offers pork such as pork belly, pork neck, gabrisal (pork shoulder blade), and pork jowl. There is also a Naver receipt-review event: save the restaurant and write a receipt review to receive ₩2,000 off your bill.

- Two portions of handmade Korean pork galbi
- Pork jowl
- Doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew)
- Mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth)
- Bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles)

The accompanying side dishes were great too. My mom tried every basic side dish one by one and said all of Manpo Garden’s banchan (Korean side dishes) were delicious.

They even brought out yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) and yukjeon (pan-fried battered beef) as main side dishes, which made the meal feel more varied and carefully considered. Basic sides such as lettuce, garlic, chili peppers, and ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste) can be picked up from the self-service station inside.
These are the sides I brought back.

If you receive the reservation notification coupon before visiting Manpo Garden, you can enjoy free doenjang-jjigae on weekdays. If you visit on a weekday, I recommend making sure to claim this benefit too.

Pork jowl with an unforgettable crisp bite
We ordered two portions of handmade Korean pork galbi and pork jowl, and started by grilling the pork jowl.

My family loves pork belly too, but we are especially big fans of the special cut pork jowl, so we ordered it at Manpo Garden as well. But seriously.... Manpo Garden is known for galbi, yet they are seriously good at pork too... The pork jowl was sooooo fresh and wonderfully crisp that, if you visit Manpo Garden after reading this, I truly suggest considering an order of pork jowl too....... 👍🏻

You can tell just by looking how crisp it is—the pieces are thick, yet have that crunchy bite, and when you chew them, pork jowl’s own meat. juices. come through with the texture. The best.... It was among the tastiest pork jowl I have had while eating out. After trying it, my mom said she wanted to taste Manpo Garden’s pork belly next time too. The meat quality was just that fresh.

Side-dish combinations that suited the pork perfectly
Manpo Garden’s own accompanying dishes were especially appealing, so if I had to recommend a combination, it would be samchae muchim (seasoned three-root vegetable salad) and chili ssamjang. These two went particularly well with the pork, so if you order pork, I absolutely recommend trying them alongside it.

The pork jowl is ridiculously delicious just as it is. And it is so good with the samchae muchim too........

Next, they changed the charcoal.

Gently sweet handmade Korean pork galbi
Now, grill grill the handmade Korean pork galbi at Manpo Garden, a Yangju galbi restaurant 🍖

Manpo Garden even provides a separate plate to set the cooked meat on neatly, and I thought that was another thoughtful detail. It is thick but tender and delicious.., 🍖 The marinade is not overpowering, and its gently sweet flavor is just the best.

When you order galbi, there is also a benefit of one free naengmyeon per person.

My mom chose mul-naengmyeon, while I had bibim-naengmyeon. Just looking at the noodles, they are a work of art, right..... The noodles were seriously springy and insane...! Of course, you have to save a few pieces of galbi before eating the naengmyeon. Wrap them up and eat them with the noodles......, and truly, it is heaven.
Free coffee and ppung-scream for dessert
Manpo Garden really shows that exceptional spirit of giving generously. After your meal, coffee and ice cream are free too.

Pick up some ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snack) by the entrance and pair it with ice cream to make ppung-scream. There are ice cups beside the register too, so you can enjoy coffee iced as well. The thoughtfulness and generosity at Manpo Garden are enormous.

One of my most satisfying meals lately 👏🏻 At Manpo Garden, a Yangju galbi restaurant, everything—the restaurant, food, benefits, and prices—was perfectly good without a single weak point. My parents kept saying how well they had eaten and how delicious it was, which is why I recommend it for family gatherings too. When I visited, there were many guests there for company dinners and family get-togethers. I came from Seoul, so if you are visiting Yangju or Pocheon on an outing from Seoul, I recommend adding Manpo Garden to your route. Revisit intention: 100 💯
Where should you park?
