Dinner cold noodles with vinegar in Dal-dong, Ulsan: Samsam Milmyeon

When I was in Ulsan, I went for a refreshing bowl of milmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) for dinner at Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch. Here's my honest review!

Where is Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch, and what are its hours and parking?

📍Location: 7 Hwahap-ro 125beon-gil, Nam-gu, Ulsan

⏰Hours: Closed Sept 25 for Chuseok / Daily 10:30–21:00

Takeout available, group-friendly, baby chairs, separate men's/women's restrooms, free parking available, 1-hour parking support at the dedicated lot

Samsam Milmyeon was near the Ulsan Intercity Bus Terminal! I found out that this Ulsan location is actually the main branch, haha. I walked over even more excited to see how it would taste~

There was parking info posted separately at the entrance, haha. 1-hour parking support at Daegyeong parking lot and Paldo paid parking lot! It seems you can just park at Daegyeong, but if there's no space there, park at Paldo and tell a staff member — they'll cover it for you :)

Inside Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch and what the menu costs

The interior was pretty spacious. There were floor-seating tables where you take your shoes off too, and lots of open seats! There was plenty of space, so we sat wherever we wanted~

I was going to order regular, but I wanted to eat a lot so I got the double portion while my friend ordered regular~ We both went with water milmyeon without a second thought ^-^/

Order: Double water milmyeon ₩10,000 / Water milmyeon ₩9,000 / Dumplings ₩6,000 / Total ₩25,000

Side dishes and the hot beef bone broth served first

As soon as we ordered, they set up the basic side dishes right away~ Danmuji (pickled radish), pickled radish cubes, soy sauce, and a warm broth!! The bone broth was loaded with pepper and had a spicy kick 😋 It was made from hanwoo (Korean beef) cow bones simmered for a long time, so it had a deep, savory flavor, haha.

What the double-portion water milmyeon and dumplings look like

Here comes the milmyeon~ I ordered the double portion :) It comes with two bundles of noodles ^-^/ There was also a generous amount of cucumber and seasoning sauce!

The dumplings we ordered came out too~ They had such a shiny gloss ✨️ I hadn't even taken a bite yet and they already looked so chewy 🤣

How much noodle is a double portion, and why vinegar is a must

If you like milmyeon or can eat a lot like me, I definitely recommend ordering the double portion~ It looks like almost twice the amount of a regular portion!

Eaten plain, the milmyeon was mild and a little sweet, but once I poured on plenty of vinegar, it turned sweet-and-sour with even more savory depth, haha. Vinegar is a must!

The cucumber was thinly julienned, and being so thin actually paired really well with the milmyeon 🤭 If you like sour flavors, I highly recommend adding a lot of vinegar.

Final verdict on dinner at Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch

From the milmyeon to the dumplings, I ate a really satisfying meal, haha. I didn't get great photos of the dumplings, but the skin was chewy, almost like a potato-starch dumpling skin? And it was packed full inside — good 👍 If you're craving milmyeon, I recommend Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch~ It's also easy to get to since it's near the Ulsan Intercity Bus Terminal.
