Jalapeño cream shrimp for a 6-seat family meal: Bueokgan Chinese
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a Europe-inspired Chinese restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. The writer ordered suran samgyeop ganjajang (poached egg and pork belly black bean noodles, ₩10,000), woo samgyeop beef jjamppong swapped for rice (₩12,000), and jalapeño cream shrimp (₩26,000), finding a smoky jjamppong, a mild ganjajang, and big, crispy shrimp. With a high chair, a 6-seat table, and a basement parking lot, it's a solid pick for a family meal with a baby in Haeundae.

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a great Haeundae Chinese restaurant — nice atmosphere, of course, plus its own dedicated basement parking lot, so it was easy to stop by while out nearby, and also just right for a family dinner out.
Interior atmosphere

Maybe because it's a Europe-style Chinese restaurant, the entrance felt full of character right from the start.

The overall interior, using pretty lighting that doesn't feel like a typical Chinese restaurant, was really lovely.

The atmosphere is great for a date too, so if you're craving Chinese food, this is a perfect date spot!!

There are comfortable tables plus a 6-seat group table, so it looked good for a small family gathering too.

The window seats had a nice, green, green view outside too~
Menu and what we ordered

There are noodle dishes, side dishes, and cooked dishes. I ordered Bueokgan's best menu items: suran samgyeop ganjajang (poached egg and pork belly black bean noodles) for ₩10,000, woo samgyeop beef jjamppong swapped for rice for ₩12,000, and jalapeño cream shrimp for ₩26,000.

Woo samgyeop beef jjamppong, swapped for rice
The woo samgyeop beef jjamppong came out first, with the rice served separately!
Wow.. the spicy smell was already delicious, and the smoky wok-hai flavor in the jjamppong was no joke!!ㅠㅠ

The jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) was loaded with ingredients, and true to its name, it was packed with beef brisket too.

I was craving rice instead of noodles today, so I ordered it as jjamppong-bap (jjamppong with rice), and pouring the jjamppong broth over rice at Bueokgan is amazing every time,,!!
The rice grains soaked up the jjamppong broth so well, so delicious, right? Everyone.. Bueokgan Chinese is the place I go to whenever I want a clean, smoky jjamppong — it's truly one of Busan's best jjamppong spots!! Highly recommend~

Suran samgyeop ganjajang, even babies can eat it
Next up was the suran samgyeop ganjajang.

The poached egg and cucumber sitting prettily on top made a strong impression.
I broke open the soft, silky poached egg and mixed it into the ganjajang.
And after mixing it all together, that smell hit me!! Amazing.
The ganjajang (black bean sauce noodles) had noodles with great chewy texture, and the black bean sauce was full of smoky wok-hai flavor — wow.. so much savory depth.

The ganjajang was loaded with meat, and the onions were crunchy and sweet too — great texture all around. It's not spicy, so it's good for babies too, making it my top pick for a family meal out!

Jalapeño cream shrimp, how about instead of sweet and sour pork?
Last up was the jalapeño cream shrimp.

The fried shrimp was topped with jalapeño and coconut flakes for decoration.
The shrimp were a really big size, and the frying was nice and crispy.

With the cream shrimp, the shrimp itself was hearty and satisfying, and the cream was clean-tasting and delicious.

Eating it together with jalapeño really cuts through the richness of the cream, making it even more delicious — make sure to try them together~!

The fresh lettuce underneath the shrimp was also nice and refreshing eaten with the sauce.
Bueokgan always feels like satisfying, upscale Chinese food for the price — if you're looking for a good restaurant for a family meal out with a baby, a Haeundae Chinese restaurant worth visiting, I recommend Bueokgan Chinese! And if you're tired of eating sweet and sour pork every time, I recommend trying the cream shrimp instead><
