I went to Songjeong during a trip to Busan. The Songjeong area has such pretty beaches and a quiet vibe that's great for walking, so I end up stopping by whenever I'm in Busan. This time we decided to eat with family near Songjeong Beach, and we visited Songjeong Dol Jjamppong, known as a local favorite.

Where is Songjeong Dol Jjamppong, and why eat here before a beach walk?
Songjeong Dol Jjamppong is a great place to eat near Songjeong Beach. You could plan your day to look at the ocean and grab lunch or dinner nearby, or take a walk around Songjeong after eating. The menu lineup was also well suited to visiting as a family, like we did, and ordering several dishes to share.

What the family ordered: whole squid jjamppong and stone-plate jajangmyeon
There were quite a few menu items, but since jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) were the core of the menu, it wasn't hard to pick what to eat. We ordered the whole squid stone-plate jjamppong, regular stone-plate jajangmyeon, and tangsuyuk.

Regular stone-plate jajangmyeon that stays hot to the last bite
The regular stone-plate jajangmyeon came out first. Since it's served hot on a stone plate, it felt distinctly different from a regular bowl of jajangmyeon! Staying warm for a long time was the big advantage of the stone-plate version, and mixing the noodles well with the black bean sauce really brought out that rich, distinctive jajang flavor.

Stone-plate jjamppong with a whole squid on top
This was the standout dish of the meal! Instead of a regular stone-plate jjamppong, we got the version with a whole squid added — the whole squid stone-plate jjamppong. The moment it arrived, the visual alone caught our eyes. Since the jjamppong comes out hot on a stone plate, the broth stays warm right to the end, and with a whole squid in the bowl, this dish would especially satisfy anyone who loves seafood.

Adding a small tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) to the family meal
You can't have Chinese food without tangsuyuk, so we ordered that too! Since we were sharing with family, we went with the small size, which was just right for pairing alongside the jajangmyeon and jjamppong. Instead of eating noodle dishes the whole time, having tangsuyuk in between changed up the texture and made the whole spread feel much richer.

The regular stone-plate jajangmyeon had its own jajang-style character, while the whole squid stone-plate jjamppong had a spicy, hearty broth — the two dishes had completely different moods. Ordering several dishes to share with family meant we got to taste jajangmyeon, jjamppong and tangsuyuk all together, which was great.

Finishing the meal with yogurt at Songjeong Dol Jjamppong
After finishing the meal, we even got yogurt! After eating our fill of hot stone-plate jajangmyeon and jjamppong, finishing with a yogurt drink made for a really clean ending to the meal. It was nice that a Chinese restaurant offered a simple dessert like this after the meal.

If you're looking for a place to eat a hearty meal with family near Songjeong Beach, trying the stone-plate jajangmyeon and stone-plate jjamppong together at Songjeong Dol Jjamppong would be a great choice!
