It's also within a fairly short distance of Daejeon Station, so getting there by public transit isn't difficult either. This area is such a busy district that it's perfect for meeting up with friends too. There's a public parking lot nearby, so driving isn't a worry either. 'Sunhwa-dong Public Parking Lot No. 2' is especially great because it's free on weekends and public holidays — total win! There are also cute little shops around to browse, so even a long wait flies by.

First impressions of Plate in Daejeon

From the entrance, warm lighting glowed softly, and the mood hit me the moment I arrived. Wall decorations made of wine bottles paired with floral arrangements gave off a cozy, upscale atmosphere even in daylight. Stepping inside, the classic wooden tables and clean open kitchen immediately caught my eye.

The moment I sat down, the smell of food already had my appetite going! The interior is compact, but the tables were well arranged, making good use of the space. I thought it would be more than enough to create a romantic mood for a blind date or a special occasion. Even the water bottles had a stylish design — the attention to detail really stood out.

Let's start with the creamy rosé pasta. The rich cream sauce was mixed with the fresh brightness of tomato, so it never felt heavy and I kept eating without getting tired of it. The shishito peppers added a bit of a spicy kick as the highlight.

The nut topping sprinkled on the soup paired beautifully with the chewy bread, making the start of the meal feel even better. And Plate also sells wine! Pairing wine with the clean pasta menu seemed like it would make the atmosphere so much better.

Next time, I want to have a glass of wine along with the meal to make it an even more perfect time. I also got to watch the chefs cooking in the open kitchen — their meticulous care added a real sense of trust.

Overall, the taste and quality for the price at Plate were excellent. Being able to choose fresh noodles yourself was especially appealing.
