Looking for somewhere to eat meat in Bakdal-dong, Anyang, I ended up at Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch! It's a pork galbi restaurant near Bakdal Market, and their signature dish is Korean pork (hanwoo) seasoned galbi grilled right at the table over charcoal, so I had to try it.

This time around, the meat paired nicely with naengmyeon and doenjang jjigae, so I ended up leaving with a really filling meal :)
Where is Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch, and what is the restaurant like?

Two servings of seasoned pork galbi and the side dishes that come with it
What we ordered was two servings of Korean pork seasoned galbi at Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch! Each serving is 250g for ₩15,000, so we got two, plus naengmyeon, doenjang jjigae, rice, and a drink.

The basic side dishes were kimchi, pickled vegetables, garlic, ssamjang (dipping paste), wasabi, and wrap greens, all served neatly. Everything you need for eating pork galbi was covered, so it was easy to pair one thing at a time with the meat.
How does the charcoal-grilled seasoned pork galbi taste?
Now for the main event — the seasoned pork galbi goes onto the charcoal 🔥
Seasoned meat burns easily, so I flipped it often while grilling, and as it cooked, the seasoning gave off that proper charcoal-grilled smell.

The meat wasn't too thin either — it was cut into good, hearty chunks that were easy to eat.
The seasoning wasn't overly intense, more of a familiar sweet-and-salty pork galbi flavor, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy, and the charcoal added a subtle smoky note that I loved.

It's delicious on its own, but putting the meat on lettuce with garlic and ssamjang for a full bite is still the best way to go, haha.

Pork galbi can start to taste a bit sweet after a while because of the seasoning, and that's when the pickled vegetables and wrap greens really come in handy.
Adding the 3,000-won doenjang jjigae
While eating the meat, we also ordered Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch's doenjang jjigae for ₩3,000.

It came out bubbling in a stone pot, with tofu and zucchini inside, nice and hot — good for a spoonful in between bites of meat. You really can't skip the doenjang jjigae plus rice combo with pork galbi, haha.
Adding rice on top made the meal so much more filling.
Finishing with cold naengmyeon for 6,000 won
And finally, naengmyeon for ₩6,000! It arrived with icy cold broth topped with noodles, cucumber, radish, seasoning sauce, and a boiled egg. After eating a good amount of meat, it really cleared the palate.
Naengmyeon is great on its own, but personally, saving one last piece of seasoned pork galbi to eat together with the noodles is the best combo. The sweet galbi and the cold, refreshing naengmyeon go really well together — I'd recommend it as the closing dish.
