Guo bao rou & free egg noodles: Apgujeong Chinese bar Mirim Yangjang

Hi, it's Chuji 🐣 I was looking for a Chinese restaurant with good vibes in Apgujeong Rodeo and ended up at "Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong" haha. We ordered Peking duck and a bunch of other things and ate until we were stuffed — here's my review~!!

Where is Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong, and what does it look like?

Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong is about a 6-minute walk (424m) from Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station on the Suin-Bundang Line. It's on the basement floor of the building.

The exterior already gives off an upscale Chinese restaurant feel, so it seems like a great spot for special occasions! In the evening there's a separate valet booth right in front of Mirim Yangjang, so if you bring a car, you can easily hand it over haha.

Red-toned Hong Kong-movie interior and the private rooms

After going down the stairs and stepping inside, the red-toned interior — the kind you'd expect in a Hong Kong movie — gave the place an exotic atmosphere! There are also separate private rooms, which seemed great for a private gathering.

Ordering by table QR code: the menu and prices

Every table at Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong has a QR code, so we could order easily through Toss.

You can browse the menu at your own pace without calling a staff member over, and additional orders go straight through the QR code too, so it was convenient haha. We ordered half a Peking duck (₩39,000) and quo bao rou (₩17,000). On top of that, we also got a free Hong Kong-style egg noodle stir-fry for leaving a Naver review, so we ended up eating plenty.

Half Peking duck for 39,000 won — how did it taste?

They say it takes over 30 hours to prepare a single Peking duck, and you can tell — the skin was crispy while the meat inside stayed moist..! Wrapped in a thin wheat pancake with sweet bean sauce, scallion, and cucumber strips, it wasn't greasy at all and my chopsticks kept going back for more haha.

Guo bao rou at 17,000 won and the free egg noodle stir-fry

The starch batter on Mirim Yangjang's quo bao rou (sweet and sour pork) was really chewy. It's fried pork loin, crispy outside and moist inside, and it was genuinely delicious paired with the sweet-and-sour sauce!!

The egg noodle stir-fry is egg noodles stir-fried with chicken, bean sprouts, and bok choy in a soy-based sauce. We got it free from the Naver review event, and it paired so well with everything else we ordered that I was glad we got it haha.

Both the atmosphere and the food were satisfying, so I'd recommend this place for a date or a special gathering haha. Looking for a good restaurant in Apgujeong Rodeo? I recommend "Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong" :)
