A housewarming for a friend who had just moved! Since my friend’s place was around Gangnam, we looked for a restaurant with a great atmosphere and ended up at Geullodeu, a wine bar near Apgujeong and Sinsa!

A stylish dinner atmosphere at Geullodeu in Apgujeong

Geullodeu had such a lovely, stylish feel. The white-toned tables and golden lamp decorations made the atmosphere so nice. It felt like it would be perfect for a couple’s anniversary or date too.

There are window seats too, and the trees and greenery outside went so beautifully with the space.

Since it’s a wine bar and wine-dining restaurant, there are lots of wines displayed at the entrance 🍷 Ordering wine is required at dinner! As of September, each person needs to order at least one glass of wine.

Dinner dishes we ordered with wine
Geullodeu’s menu is divided into starters, small dishes, meals, and main dishes. Everything sounded like it would pair wonderfully with wine. We debated for ages 🤔 but ordered the white bread, ceviche, and sun-dried tomato pasta, which all seemed like great matches for wine.

Chatting away with my friend while we waited for the food 💭 As we get older year by year, our conversation topics change and we have more worries about life, but those changing topics are really interesting.

JAUME SERRA sparkling wine
They brought out the sparkling wine we ordered: JAUME SERRA sparkling wine 🥂
🥂 Seeing wine poured into an empty glass like this is just so pretty.

Honestly, I have a kid’s palate, so I’m not usually great at picking up wine’s sweetness, but this sparkling wine had a sweet note too, so it was just right. It felt like it would go so well with the food,,

From handmade-butter white bread to sea bass ceviche
White bread
The starter arrived. They said the butter was handmade in-house, and even the butter looked so pretty.. I honestly don’t know how they baked the white bread, but it was beautifully golden and had such a rich, nutty flavor.

Spread with the handmade butter, we finished a whole plate in no time.. I can still remember the taste of that butter—it was so delicious.. 💗 Such a happy start to the meal.

Ceviche
They told us that today’s ceviche was served with sea bass. After giving us a brief explanation of the ceviche, they poured over the sauce to enjoy with it.
Rather than mixing the sauce in ahead of time, they poured it right in front of us, which made it even more fun to watch. Just like when they pour sauce tableside at a fine-dining restaurant,,

The sauce was sweet with a nutty note. It paired beautifully with the fresh ceviche.

The sea bass was fresh and tender, and besides the fruit-and-petal salad, there were popping boba too. The texture was so fun that we finished the ceviche in no time as well.. 🍽️

Sun-dried tomato pasta
I was curious what this pasta would be like because even the name sounded a little complicated! It came covered with a red blanket, and they told us it was actual dried tomato. You mix it into the pasta underneath and eat it!

The cheese and dried tomatoes came together really well, and the dried tomatoes genuinely tasted like tomato. The noodles were nicely chewy yet soft too, so their texture was great.

As a devoted pickle lover, I cautiously asked whether they had pickles, and they brought us these cute little pickles! Eating them with the pasta made everything taste even better.
Overall, Geullodeu had such a lovely atmosphere and was easy to reach because it’s near Apgujeong Station. I really liked the interior too, so I thought it was a great place to spend quality time with people who matter to you.
