Gangnam Station laptop café, mango juice 1-person set: Selected Nicks

Starting my honest review of Selected Nicks, a café I'd recommend as a Gangnam, Seoul favorite! Let's go 〰️

Where is Selected Nicks? Hours and parking near Gangnam Station

Selected Nicks is a large café near Gangnam Station on the 1st floor of 37 Teheran-ro 4-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Hours are weekdays 08:00-24:00, weekends 11:00-23:30.

On a nice day I was looking for somewhere my sister and I could bring our laptops, and I found this place — haha. Right at the 1st floor entrance there's a row of pretty outdoor seats. Follow the path in and the café building appears, tada.

True to its status as a large Gangnam Station café, Selected Nicks uses

• B1, 1F, 2F, 3F, 8F, and the rooftop

— six floors total. There's a restroom on every floor, which was really convenient. I'll show you more of the vibe after the menu section!!

How ordering works: picking desserts into a basket

Ordering at Selected Nicks is pretty unique. You grab a basket near the entrance and pick out desserts and tiramisu directly from the display case yourself.

There was a set menu board, and after some back and forth, we went with the set.

The tiramisu cake flavors at Selected Nicks were

• Classic, choco banana, banana, pistachio, raspberry, strawberry, carrot, Dubai

— that many options.

With the set menu, you also pick a dessert from financier, madeleine, cookie, or brownie. Just load everything into your basket, bring it to the counter, and pay — done! Note that drinks are ordered separately at the kiosk next to the counter!!

What I ordered was

• One-person set (1 drink + 1 tiramisu + 1 dessert)

My sister and I put our heads together and decided on a mango juice, the choco banana tiramisu, and a lemon madeleine!

True to being a Gangnam tiramisu favorite, the choco banana tiramisu was genuinely delicious! I scooped up a big spoonful and could feel real banana chunks in the cream, which really boosted the flavor. Plus the chocolate part wasn't just sweet — it had a bitter, dense, rich chocolate feel, so I could eat the whole thing without getting sick of it. To finish, biting into the lemon madeleine released a refreshing, sweet lemon scent that felt like a palate cleanser ෆ

Is Selected Nicks good for laptop work? Modern interiors hung with art

With our stomachs full, time to slowly look around the café, right? The interior overall is clean and modern, with paintings on display here and there, so it felt like being in an art gallery.

It was fun looking around at each spot — if you were picturing a cute, cozy-vibe interior, this might feel a bit different, but if you like a modern, stylish feel, you'll definitely love it! I came here to work on my laptop, and it really does feel like a Gangnam café made for that.

There's also a separate outdoor terrace, so once it cools down a bit more it would be really nice to have sweet dessert time out there.

It was a satisfying day, discovering a large Gangnam Station café where you can admire great art and enjoy a quiet atmosphere. If you want to try desserts with that perfect balance of sweet and bitter, I'd recommend going all in with the Selected Nicks one-person set combo. If you're looking for a focused study café, a genuine Yeoksam café favorite, this one is worth the visit. ෆ
