Date-night Western restaurant in Cheongdam-dong: Pepite pasta

In short

Pepite is a Western-style restaurant in an alley between Cheongdam Station and Apgujeongrodeo Station in Gangnam, Seoul, where a chef trained in Michelin fine dining adds Japanese touches to the plates. The amberjack ceviche (32,000 won) arrived with a tangy romesco sauce and tomato foam, and the red shrimp pasta (28,000 won) stood out for its chewy new fresh noodles and deep shrimp flavour. With soft lighting and wide spacing between tables, Pepite works well as an anniversary date course.

Hi, it's Chuji🐣 I was looking for a nice-atmosphere Western restaurant in Cheongdam and ended up at "Pepite"! Here's my review after trying the amberjack ceviche and red shrimp pasta~!!

How to get to Pepite, and where to park

Pepite is a 10-minute walk from Exit 9 of Cheongdam Station! It's also just 907m from Exit 2 of Apgujeongrodeo Station, so either station works fine. Valet parking is available too, so if you're driving, it's super convenient haha

What's on the menu at Pepite

I heard the chef came from Michelin fine dining and adds Japanese-style touches to the cooking, so I was already excited before arriving, and the menu really did look delicious..! From cold dishes like ceviche and tartare, to pasta, steak, and sukiyaki, it's set up nicely for enjoying as a course.

Amberjack ceviche, 32,000 won

Plating of Pepite's amberjack ceviche

What we ordered was the amberjack ceviche (₩32,000). It comes with aged amberjack, romesco sauce, tomato foam, herb oil, fennel pickle, and lemon gel — the tangy sauce paired with the fresh amberjack made for a flavor I'd never had before! It was tangy and delicious. The plating was so pretty too, and eating the tomato foam together with the amberjack gave a great texture.

Red shrimp pasta, 28,000 won: how are the fresh noodles?

We also ordered the red shrimp pasta (₩28,000), and the deep umami of the shrimp had soaked into the noodles so well that I kept reaching for more. True to the renewed fresh noodles, they were chewy yet soft, and since it leaned into the shrimp's natural flavor rather than a cream or oil base, it was light and paired perfectly with the ceviche hahaha

The atmosphere was great and you could feel the care put into the food, so it was perfect for a date on a special day, and the staff serving us were friendly too, so I'd love to come back. Looking for a nice-atmosphere Western restaurant in Cheongdam? I recommend "Pepite"!!
