Cheongdam-dong fine dining, free corkage: Pepite's white ragu pasta

In short

Pepite is a Japanese-French fine dining restaurant in an inner alley off the luxury shopping street in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. At dinner, Pepite's white ragu pasta — made with white port wine and porcini mushrooms — came with a side of ciabatta; the sauce is cream-based but never heavy, and it soaks into the pasta right to the last bite. With warm lighting, generous space between tables and a private room for up to 10 people, Pepite is worth saving for a Gangnam date or a small group dinner.

I wanted to have a meal somewhere with great atmosphere for once, so I went to Pepite, a Japanese-French fine dining restaurant on Cheongdam's luxury street. Pepite serves delicate, layered Japanese-French cuisine, and I'd always been curious about it whenever I passed by :) If you're looking for an Apgujeong date spot, definitely save this one. 💛

What is Pepite like in the evening?

Walking into Pepite, the lighting was warm and the whole place felt comfortable. I visited in the evening, and thanks to the warm lighting it was easy to enjoy a calm, atmospheric meal. The tables were spaced generously too, making it easy to chat with company while eating — great atmosphere!

Pepite offers a range of seating, from bar tables to a private room where you can dine, well, privately. The room can fit up to 10 people, apparently making it popular for Gangnam company dinners and wedding-invitation gatherings. Perfect for when you need to set up an important meal.

Pepite's menu and the free corkage event

True to its Japanese-French name, Pepite's menu takes familiar ingredients and gives them a slightly different spin. There's everything from amberjack ceviche, Korean beef tartare, and abalone aemono, to mains like a seafood platter, Korean beef striploin steak, and sukiyaki. There are several pastas too — sea urchin pasta, vongole, white ragu — so as a pasta lover, I had a happy dilemma choosing 😊!

White ragu pasta: creamy but not heavy

Pepite's white ragu pasta adds white port wine and porcini mushrooms to a white ragu base. Being cream-based, I thought it might feel a bit heavy at first, but once I actually tried it, it had the softness of cream without being heavy at all — and it was so good!!

The ragu sauce, rich with a deep meaty flavor, had soaked well into the noodles, so every bite delivered plenty of sauce flavor. The noodles worked well with the sauce too, so I enjoyed it right to the last bite 🍝

Ciabatta ordered as an extra at Pepite

Why adding ciabatta at Pepite is a must

Pasta alone felt like it wasn't quite enough, so I added ciabatta! 🥖

Ciabatta served with a side sauce

Dipping the bread right into the smooth pasta sauce was delicious, and it was a perfect match with the sauce served alongside too. I got to enjoy it cleanly right to the end.

This would suit anyone who loves cream pasta but finds overly heavy, greasy versions off-putting. If you're looking for a great-atmosphere Cheongdam-dong restaurant, a Gangnam fine dining spot for a special day, or a Cheongdam-dong favorite, save Pepite — it has a chef with a background in Michelin fine dining! ✨🌸
