Bojeong-dong café street BBQ and pasta set for two: Rustic Smokehouse

I visited Rustic Smokehouse, a spot on the Bojeong-dong café street in Yongin where you can enjoy pasta and BBQ together. There are a lot of great-atmosphere restaurants on the Bojeong-dong café street, so I often end up there for dates or dinners out. This place let me pick a bunch of menu items to my taste while still soaking in that distinct Bojeong-dong café street vibe. Let me walk you through my visit in detail :)

Parking at Rustic Smokehouse: a few free spaces out front

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch has a few free parking spots right in front of the restaurant. Parking is always a bit of a worry when visiting restaurants on the Bojeong-dong café street, but we drove and it was really convenient to park right out front without paying anything extra while we ate.

Inside Rustic Smokehouse: an American BBQ restaurant look

Walking into Rustic Smokehouse, the wood tones and warm orange lighting throughout give it a cozy yet casual feel.

The big arched interior detail toward the back and the wall décor especially caught my eye. Rather than a typical pasta place, it really felt like stepping into a casual American BBQ restaurant, true to its name.

There were tables for all group sizes, from two-tops to bigger group seating. It's a good spot for a couple's date on the Bojeong-dong café street, and comfortable enough for a family or friend get-together too.

Rustic Smokehouse menu and C Set price

Rustic Smokehouse serves BBQ, pasta, risotto and more, and also has an all-day BBQ set where you mix and match menu items. We went as two and picked the C Set — the RUSTIC SIGNATURE SET, ₩37,000 for 2.5 people.

You choose 1 BBQ + 1 pasta + 1 side yourself. I picked baby back ribs 400g for the BBQ, ragu cheese pasta for the pasta, and a quesadilla half for the side. The baby back ribs added ₩10,000 and the quesadilla half added ₩3,000, so our combo came to ₩50,000 total. We also added an orange juice on top of that.

How the Bojeong-dong café street set menu works

On one side there's a mini self-bar with jalapeños and various sauces you help yourself to, plus disposable gloves are provided to make eating the BBQ easier.

The whole set came out looking incredibly hearty and delicious, don't you think? For ₩50,000 these days, this amount and quality of food felt like really solid value!

Beyond the mains, morning bread, coleslaw, and fries came as sides too.

Baby back ribs 400g, served with a mini hatchet

The ribs came out with a mini hatchet stuck in them, which looked great and made them easy to cut. Once we cut a piece and tasted it, it was so tender and the sauce was so good that we were completely blown away right away.

We usually get ribs at Outback, but after trying these, my friend and I agreed this is where we're getting ribs from now on — they were genuinely that good!

The fries came out in a generous portion too, and I ended up polishing them off before I knew it, one by one. Spreading rib meat on the morning bread with coleslaw and eating it sandwich-style was also a really tasty combo.

Ragu cheese pasta or Toowoomba pasta: which to order?

I was craving a cream pasta and went back and forth between the Toowoomba pasta and the ragu cheese pasta, but I ordered this one — and honestly, you have to get the ragu cheese pasta!

It's a rich, thick, properly done cream sauce combined with ground meat, and the pasta itself confirmed this place is legit. It's one of the best dishes I've had recently, and we both kept saying we absolutely have to come back.

The side: half quesadilla

The half quesadilla we picked as a side was totally crispy on the outside and stuffed with filling on the inside — pairing it with the salsa and sour cream sauces felt like being at a proper taco place. Every single dish today was satisfying.
