Family-friendly barbecue restaurant in Suyeong, Busan: Donbegi
In short
Donbegi Gwang-an Branch is a pork barbecue restaurant in Suyeong, Busan, where staff grill the meat from start to finish. We had shoulder rack, pork neck, and ogeopsal with our 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter in the divided second-floor seating area. Verdict: a relaxing choice for a family meat dinner in Gwangalli.

Is there somewhere in Gwangalli where we can eat meat with the kids without having to grill it ourselves?
While deciding what to have for the last dinner of our Busan trip, well, when all is said and done, meat is the answer. Since we were dining out with our 2-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter, taste mattered, of course, but I looked first for somewhere we could eat comfortably with the kids.

That is how we chose Donbegi Gwang-an Branch (돈베기 광안점), a popular pork barbecue spot in Gwangalli. Whenever we go to a barbecue restaurant with the kids, we absolutely prefer somewhere that grills for us. At Donbegi, the staff grilled our meat deliciously from beginning to end, so we could eat really comfortably.
A Gwangalli barbecue restaurant with kids: the second floor felt private

Donbegi Gwang-an Branch had a calmer atmosphere than a typical barbecue restaurant. When we first walked in, it even felt a little like a Japanese restaurant.

The second floor in particular was divided into room-like spaces, which made it great for visiting with children. When you dine out with two kids, you can end up worrying unnecessarily about the neighboring tables, but this felt more independent, so we could eat a little more comfortably.

They also had high chairs, making it a good place to visit with little ones. It looked like a decent choice not only for family meals but also for a Gwangalli group dinner with several people.
If, like us, you are looking for pork barbecue in Gwangalli with kids, I recommend Donbegi!!
What we tried: shoulder rack, pork neck, and ogeopsal

We ordered the set with 400 g of shoulder rack and 200 g of pork neck, then added 180 g of ogeopsal (five-layer pork belly).

To give you the conclusion first, all three were delicious.

The shoulder rack was thick yet tender and full of juice. The pork neck was moist rather than dry, so it was easy to cut into small pieces for the kids. Finally, the extra ogeopsal was wonderfully savory and chewy.

It was delicious wrapped in ssam (leaf wraps) with the side dishes, and it was delicious on its own too, so we ate until we were absolutely full.

We found it by searching for pork barbecue in Gwangalli, but personally, rather than eating just one cut, I would recommend ordering a variety of shoulder rack, pork neck, and ogeopsal.

More than anything, the kids ate so well. When the kids keep asking for more meat, rather than just the parents saying it is tasty, isn't that the real proof of a great restaurant?
With kids at a barbecue restaurant, staff grilling was so convenient
Before raising children, I had no idea grilling meat could be so hard. But once we had a second child, between getting water, spooning out rice, and cutting up meat, it was not easy to keep an eye on the grill too.
So this time, I looked for a restaurant that would grill from the start. At Donbegi, the staff grilled the meat themselves from beginning to end, which was genuinely convenient from a parent's perspective.

Thick cuts such as shoulder rack are especially not easy to grill, so I was very satisfied that they cooked them to their best state for us. Being able to enjoy hot meat together while looking after the kids is a bigger advantage than you might think.
This kind of service would definitely be great for a Gwangalli barbecue restaurant hosting a larger group dinner, too. And if you are traveling with a pet, it is also a good pet-friendly restaurant in Gwangalli.
Donbegi Gwang-an Branch for the last dinner of our Busan trip

We chose Donbegi Gwang-an Branch for the final dinner of our 2-night, 3-day Busan trip, and we were really satisfied. We filled up on shoulder rack, pork neck, and ogeopsal, and the kids ate the meat so well that we were even happier as parents. Above all, since the meat was grilled for us from start to finish, we could take care of the kids and still enjoy a relaxed meal.

If you want space, flavor, and comfort all in one while going out for meat with kids in Gwangalli, I recommend Donbegi Gwang-an Branch!!
