I had a leisurely Friday morning brunch at Bueokgan Chinese, a well-known Marine City spot 〰️

From the entrance alone you could feel a modern, sophisticated vibe — a different kind of upscale interior from your typical Chinese restaurant, which is exactly why I'd wanted to try it✨ It's open all day so you can drop by for lunch or dinner whenever, and it even has the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's 'Excellent' hygiene grade mark, so trust level: UP!!

A peek at the interior and the view outside through the glass doors! Already happy just thinking about that ocean view 💖 Full glass walls all around make it bright and clean with no stuffy feeling — perfect vibe for brunch or a lunch gathering ദ്ദി(⩌ᴗ⩌ )

There's a neat little sink area set up in one corner, so washing your hands before and after eating was easy, and on rainy days there are umbrella bags by the entrance.

They have baby chairs and aprons too — the apron said 'I'll protect my restaurant's guests,' so cute ㅠ.ㅠ

Stepping inside Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, the place was huge. The overall black-and-deep-red modern interior, with pretty lighting and stylish decor, makes it feel more like a stylish upscale restaurant than a typical Chinese place — a real Marine City find 🤤

What really caught my eye was that window-seat ocean view 🌊 The Haeundae sea opens up right outside the glass, making it a prime spot to eat while gazing at the water ⸝⸝› ‹⸝⸝ Perfect for a date or just to lift your mood 👍🏻

There's also a nicely set-up private group room on one side, which seemed great for family gatherings, company dinners, or private meals 💡

Bueokgan Chinese menu and prices

At Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, noodle dishes start from BUUK jjajangmyeon at ₩8,000, and cooked dishes start from pyogosha at ₩22,000. The weekday lunch set is only orderable 11:00–15:00 and costs ₩35,000.

The basic side dishes were salty, crunchy jachai (pickled mustard root) and danmuji (yellow pickled radish), which paired really well >< (the water, by the way, was bottled water ㅠ)

Seafood nurungji-tang, 38,000 won — with a free nurungji refill

What we ordered that day: seafood nurungji-tang ₩38,000, gochu ganjajang ₩10,000, Coca-Cola ₩2,500, Sprite ₩2,500. A generous spread with the Haeundae sea as the backdrop! True to a Marine City favorite, it caught the eye visually before we even ate ⸝⸝⸝•︡ˍ•︠⸝⸝⸝

First up, the seafood nurungji-tang. Shrimp, squid, shiitake, wood ear mushrooms, bok choy, bell pepper, bamboo shoots — the savory sauce was generously loaded with fresh seafood and vegetables.

I scooped some into my small plate with broth and took a bite — a deep, savory umami filled my mouth (so happy eating something this good), and the thick sauce soaked right into the crispy, nutty nurungji, warming and filling me up.

The nurungji-tang sauce was so rich and delicious that my mom and sister both wanted more nurungji, so I asked if there was an option to add extra. The foreign staff member happily gave us extra nurungji as a service item 💖 (their Korean was still a bit rough so we used gestures to ask, and it was so cute watching them try to understand ㅋㅋ) Great taste plus such kind service — pure happy-smile-happiness ･̑◡･̑

Gochu ganjajang, 10,000 won — the spice that pulls it together

Pairing nicely with the savory nurungji-tang, the spicy gochu ganjajang is ₩10,000. Freshly stir-fried, rich black bean sauce topped with finely sliced chili — the visual alone was amazing! A hint of smoky char in the air too 🫢

Mixing the noodles and taking a big bite, the noodles were springy and alive, with big chunks of onion and meat giving it great texture ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I want more already. The slight spiciness cut right through what could've been a heavy, greasy jajang flavor, so it stayed enjoyable to the very last bite.

And the highly anticipated eohyang mandu we got from the review event. Even as a free extra, it was freshly fried — crispy outside, packed with meat and vegetables inside, seriously great quality✨ Topped with crunchy onion strips and a sweet-and-savory sauce, it made a perfect little snack between bites of the main dishes 𖤐 Definitely leave a receipt review when you visit and grab yours 𖤐

It was so good we cleaned every plate! (๑❛ڡ❛๑)
