I visited Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch with my child and husband for beef. We shared outside skirt and flower-cut rib, making it a family meal with side dishes and dessert as well.

Where is it, and what about parking and hours?
The restaurant is at 197 Chimsannam-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu, near the Chimsan 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center. We parked before going in, and the information said parking was available on the building’s first floor.
At the time of the original post, it was open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:50 PM. There was a break from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, and last orders were at 9:00 PM.

Are there facilities suitable for dining with children?
The interior was spacious, with everything from four-person tables to group seating. The tables also felt private, which made it comfortable for a family meal. High chairs and a playroom were available for visits with children.

How much are the beef and set menus?
The meat was cut to order. The open-style kitchen let us see the preparation area.

These were the menu prices I noted during my visit. The beef was offered in full and half portions.
- Fresh galbi (beef short ribs): full portion ₩104,000, half portion ₩52,000
- Seokcheong galbi: full portion ₩94,000, half portion ₩47,000
- Anchangsal (outside skirt): full portion ₩108,000, half portion ₩54,000
- Flower-cut rib: full portion ₩98,000, half portion ₩49,000
- Hwangje galbisal (premium boneless short rib): full portion ₩80,000, half portion ₩40,000
- Freshly marinated galbi: full portion ₩81,000, half portion ₩40,500
- 9dan Set: ₩18,000, including 80 g yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), pork kimchi stew, jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles), fresh wasabi, and sushi

There were also lunch specials with meat set meals and soup dishes. We ordered beef this time, and I would like to try a lunch special next time.
What were the table settings and the 9dan Set like?
Side plates, individually wrapped utensils, water cups, soju glasses, and wet wipes were set out beside the table. When eating with a child, we sometimes need extra tableware, so it was convenient to have it nearby.

Several banchan (Korean side dishes) arrived after we ordered. They were neatly presented, and we tried a little of each. A staff member first offered to bring more of any side dishes we needed and also took care of settings for our child. Charcoal was added before we grilled the meat.

We also had the 9dan Set. With yukhoe, pork kimchi stew, and jjolmyeon included, there was a good variety to eat with the beef. It felt like a generous spread for our family.

How did we eat the outside skirt and flower-cut rib?
We ordered a half portion each of outside skirt and flower-cut rib. After tasting the side dishes little by little, we grilled and shared only as much meat as we wanted to eat.

The beef was tender, and even the pieces grilled thoroughly did not feel dry. At first, I tasted the meat with just salt.

I also liked eating it with the sushi and wasabi from the set. My child ate the beef well too, and the flower-cut rib was not tough, so it was easy to eat. Alternating the side dishes made for a varied meal.

What did my child eat, and what was dessert like?
We also ordered the Gorgonzola pizza that my child wanted. My child had pizza along with seaweed, side dishes, and beef served on a tray.
After the beef, we had the pork kimchi stew as well. The broth was tasty, and I thought ramen noodles would be good in it, but we were already full and I was watching my diet, so I did not add them.

Coffee, drinks, and snacks were available for dessert. Iced cups were provided, so coffee could be enjoyed hot or cold. After our meal, we took some children’s snacks and coffee, then had patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans) too.
I was satisfied with this meal because we could enjoy tender beef with a range of accompaniments. With high chairs, a playroom, and dessert available, it was convenient to dine with a child.
