Cheongna seafood jjim restaurant for three: Haemul Teukbyeolsi
In short
Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch is a griddle seafood jjim (spicy braised seafood) and monkfish stew restaurant in Cheongna, Seohae, Incheon. On a Tuesday evening, three people shared the small whole squid griddle seafood jjim for 58,000 won plus two orders of cheese fried rice at 5,000 won each, and even the small size was filling for all three. The sauce at Haemul Teukbyeolsi is sharp and savory and the whole squid springy, so the next visit is planned for the monkfish stew.

Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch
So on a Tuesday evening I suddenly, desperately craved something spicy and hearty and seafood-y. So off I went to Cheongna to blow off some steam with a good meal, haha. This time I visited a place famous as an Incheon must-visit for monkfish stew (agu-jjim) — 'Haemul Teukbyeolsi'!

Where Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna is, plus hours and parking
Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch is located on the 1st floor of 23 Cheongna Emerald-ro 41beon-gil, Seohae-gu, Incheon. Hours are Monday through Friday 11:30–22:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 16:30 and last order at 21:00. Saturday and Sunday have no break time.
There's parking right in front of the store, room for about 6 cars, so if it's full you can park in the surrounding alleys.
Seeing a big signboard right at the entrance saying 'a place that does seafood jjim properly' already had my mouth watering before I even walked in, haha. There's also a handy parking spot right outside, so it was super convenient to drive there!

Inside Haemul Teukbyeolsi: seating and atmosphere
Walking into Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch, the interior was really spacious and clean.

The tables are spaced out generously, and it looked perfect for family gatherings or work dinners. I was so hungry I sat down and immediately started studying the menu.

What three of us ordered at Haemul Teukbyeolsi, and what it cost
We ordered the signature dish — the whole squid griddle seafood jjim (small) for 58,000 won — plus two orders of cheese fried rice at 5,000 won each. There were so many good options from set menus to seafood kalguksu (noodle soup) that I had a moment of decision paralysis... but in the end I went with the signature dish.
- 🦑 Whole squid griddle seafood jjim (small) ₩58,000
- 🧀 Cheese fried rice ₩5,000 ×2

This place is originally super famous and word-of-mouth known for its monkfish stew in Cheongna too, so I made a promise to myself to come back specifically for that next time.
Receipt review perk: fried monkfish for 1,000 won
While waiting after ordering, I noticed on the table tablet that they're running a Naver receipt photo review event. Write a review, and you can get half a plate of handmade fried monkfish for just ₩1,000 — a super discounted deal. If you're visiting, don't miss out on this little perk, haha, that's a solid tip.

And the self-serve bar where you can grab extra side dishes was really clean and hygienic-looking, which I loved.

Is the small whole squid seafood jjim enough for three?
Finally, the whole squid griddle seafood jjim I'd been waiting and waiting for arrived!! I was seriously shocked the moment I saw it.
Overwhelming visuals from the start — the whole squid griddle seafood jjim!
A whole, big squid dropped in there — one entire animal! Shrimp, octopus, monkfish roe, bean sprouts, water dropwort, all piled in — an insane combination 🔥

Even though we ordered the small size, the portion was seriously massive — the three of us ate it and were completely stuffed.
First I went for the whole squid, which I love so much — sliced up into bite-sized pieces. Not chewy at all, springy and tender at the same time — the texture was genuinely insane, in a good way.

How spicy and savory is the sauce?
Above all, the sauce on Haemul Teukbyeolsi's seafood jjim was seriously amazing. It's not an artificial spicy heat — it's the deep savory flavor drawn out of the seafood harmonizing with a spicy kick, the kind of taste that just clings to your mouth. Thanks to that savory sauce, I understood in one bite why this place is the go-to seafood jjim restaurant in Cheongna.

Finishing with cheese fried rice, 5,000 won
Scooping out the seafood and crunchy bean sprouts, I was already starting to feel full... but no matter how full you are, not mixing rice into that delicious sauce would be rude, right? Without hesitation I added the cheese fried rice.

The rice was fried to a nice nutty flavor with cheese melting all over it — passed the visual test instantly! I scooped up a big spoonful and it was the spicy-sweet seafood sauce, savory cheese, and seaweed flakes all coming together — genuinely just kept me going 'wow.' I said I was full but I'm not telling anyone I finished the whole plate of fried rice, haha.

Final verdict on Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna
Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch didn't miss on a single thing — huge portions, fresh seafood, friendly service — so I'll definitely be back the next time I want proper seafood jjim or monkfish stew in Cheongna. If you're craving something spicy and hearty this weekend, definitely check out 'Haemul Teukbyeolsi,' the place that does monkfish stew perfectly in Cheongna. Highly recommend. Hope everyone has a delicious day 🤍
