Hello, this is Tangtangbol! 🤗 Today I went out with my husband for seafood stew after work.

I love spicy food and I love seafood, so seafood stew is a big favorite of mine! To blow off some stress, I picked seafood stew for dinner out!!

From seafood stew to seafood hot pot to seafood kalguksu (noodle soup), this Cheongna seafood spot serves everything generously and deliciously — here's my review of Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch!!! 😍

Inside Haemul Teukbyeolsi: private rooms and parking

This Cheongna seafood spot serves roasted barley tea as water, and honestly that alone won me over!!

Seafood restaurants can sometimes smell fishy or feel less than clean inside, but not this place at all. The interior is spacious, there's a proper parking lot, and it all felt clean and comfortable.

I also loved that they have private rooms. Being able to eat privately is the best!!! 👍

Side dishes you refill yourself at the self-serve bar

Oh! They bring out side dishes to start, but once you finish them, you can grab more from the self-serve bar!!! My personal favorite was the soy sauce mixed with pepper and onion.

Whole squid hot-plate seafood jjim set (small), 58,000 won at spice level 2

I went back and forth between the whole squid hot-plate seafood set and the whole squid seafood hot pot set, but I was really craving something spicy so I went with the whole squid hot-plate seafood stew!!! It's whole squid seafood stew served on a hot plate, which was even better — it stays warm the whole meal!!!

They also have monkfish stew, but I was craving whole squid seafood stew more that day! And they have a lunch special of seafood kalguksu or a seafood kalguksu set meal, which is a great value!!

Clam soup, flat dumplings and corn cheese that come with the set

Order the full set and you get clam soup, flat dumplings, and corn cheese included as standard!!😉👍 Chopped chili in the clam soup!!🌶 Thanks to the cheongyang chili, it was spicy with a real sea flavor and incredible depth!!!

We finished off the corn cheese before the main seafood stew even arrived~😂 I was about to try the flat dumplings too, but the owner told me they taste even better eaten with the seafood stew, so I waited for the stew to come out! 😆

Just like the owner said, the flat dumplings tasted even better eaten together with the seafood stew, so we devoured both together!!! 😁 I thought about ordering more flat dumplings, but as you can see from how much seafood stew there was, it was way too much already, so we just stuck with the stew. I could tell I'd fill up fast, haha.

Is the small set really enough for two? Portion size and seafood

This Cheongna seafood spot piles on shrimp, crab, whole squid, and more — generous and fresh — plus it's got water dropwort in there, which made it even tastier!!! 😋

Is it really a two-person serving?! It is!!!! But the portion is genuinely huge, the seafood is piled on generously, and it's fresh too!!!!

That was the best shrimp I've had in a while, and the crab, clams, sea squirt — all so delicious... I really felt what true freshness means. And every piece of seafood was so big!!! 😋

My husband kept shelling the shrimp for me and refilling the clam soup and seafood stew — he took such good care of me~ (my husband is the best!!! 👍) The sauce was so good I wanted to mix it with rice, but there was so much seafood stew left that I had to give that up too!!!!!

This isn't two servings, it's three... Next time I'll bring my parents along for seafood stew. 😁😁 Delicious and truly fresh seafood — highly recommend this Cheongna seafood spot, Haemul Teukbyeolsi Cheongna Direct Branch!!!!
