Cheongna hanwoo restaurant with 21-day aged sirloin: Suksung Myeongjak
In short
Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna is a hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant in Cheongna, Incheon, that ages grade 1+ sirloin for at least 21 days and grills it for you in a cast-iron pot. For an anniversary dinner the order was the signature aged sirloin for two, truffle and hanwoo tartare, the one-day-only sea urchin, Pyongyang cold buckwheat noodles and a hanwoo hangover noodle soup, with staff cooking the beef and vegetables at the table. With separate group tables, Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna works equally well for a Cheongna office dinner or a date.

Celebrating an anniversary!!! I heard there's a famous aged hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant in Cheongna listed in both the 💙Blue Ribbon💙 and 🎀Red Ribbon🎀 national restaurant guides, so I made the trek out there! Suksung Myeongjak in Cheongna is seriously dedicated to aging beef to bring out hanwoo's true flavor. It was genuinely, insanely good......

Is it a good Cheongna group dinner spot? Group tables and atmosphere
Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna has separate group tables that looked great for company dinners, family gatherings, or any important occasion. I visited on a weekday, and even so, once it got a bit later, tons of people came in for group dinners! It seems to be a well-known spot for a Cheongna office dinner.
There were also plenty of couples on dates. The atmosphere isn't too stiff, so it seemed like a good date spot too!

They've received both the Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon awards, and the four words "Suksung Myeongjak" were right there in the Red Ribbon listing!! It's already good hanwoo, so how much better could it possibly get! My expectations were rising...!!

What we ordered at Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna
On the day, we ordered: the aged sirloin for two, truffle & hanwoo tartare, uni, Pyongyang cold noodles, the basic-flavor hanwoo hangover noodle soup, and hibiscus and green tangerine ade. Since it really was an anniversary, we treated ourselves~ full luxury mode!
The table setting was ready before we arrived

Since we'd reserved, the table setting was already prepared, and salad and scallion salad came out right away! I liked that the side dishes were varied and neatly arranged overall!

It was my first time seeing a hibiscus ade, so I ordered it out of curiosity, and it was refreshing and fragrant to drink alongside the meat! The green tangerine ade actually had bits of green tangerine you could bite into, so it felt properly sweet and tangy — the ade was delicious even before the food started!!
Truffle & hanwoo tartare: stunning before you even taste it
The truffle & hanwoo tartare I'd been waiting for! I really love truffle, and wow... the presentation alone was insane, with truffle, gold flakes, and even Grana Padano cheese on top — the plating was so luxurious that I just stared at it for a while.

Truly felt spoiled~!! It's made with premium hanwoo top round tossed in white truffle oil, and the tartare was soft yet chewy, with the truffle aroma spreading through my mouth along with the nutty, savory saltiness of the cheese — the flavor was incredible...!!! If you like truffle, I definitely recommend ordering this dish too!!!
Rich, sweet sea urchin, limited to one serving a day

The uni is a one-day limited item, and luckily we could order it! It came out generously portioned and was genuinely, genuinely fresh!!! My partner usually isn't a fan of uni's ocean smell or fishy taste, but that day they said it was the best uni they'd ever had! Because it was so fresh, the rich, sweet flavor came through even more clearly!!!

The uni alone was already delicious, but later we tried wrapping it with hanwoo — and that combination was seriously... a festival in your mouth~!~! Let it begin!!! The deep meaty flavor of the hanwoo pairs so well with the rich, sweet taste of the uni!
21-day aged sirloin, grilled for you at the table

And now, finally, the main event — the Suksung Myeongjak aged sirloin!! It's said to be premium 1+ grade or higher sirloin, dry-aged for at least 21 days at a controlled temperature of under 1°C. The marbling the moment the meat arrived...! I was drooling.
They cut and prepare the meat themselves, heat the cast-iron pot thoroughly, then grill it for you personally!! The meat quality matters, but the grilling skill and timing are seriously just as important for the flavor!

Grilling meat can be surprisingly stressful, but having an expert do it made everything so delicious and easy to enjoy!

Along with the meat, they carefully grilled mushrooms, onion, eggplant, and peppers too. I completely zoned out just watching the whole grilling performance...!

I took a bite of the perfectly grilled sirloin and... the meat just melts!! Seriously insane ㅠㅠㅠㅠ The juices came out moist with a deep meaty aroma, and the more I chewed, the stronger the flavor of the meat itself came through — so delicious!!! It really made me think that good beef needs to be aged well and grilled well to truly shine.
Pyongyang cold buckwheat noodles to finish

Even after eating our fill of meat, we ordered the Pyongyang cold noodles! Buckwheat noodles in a broth with a subtle meaty aroma — one sip of the broth and my mouth felt instantly refreshed.

They also served basil radish salad and seasoned radish salad alongside, and eating them with the noodles gave it a whole new, delicious dimension!
And the spicy hanwoo hangover noodle soup

The hanwoo hangover noodle soup felt like a spicy beef and knife-cut noodle soup — the broth was spicy yet clean, exactly the feeling of curing a hangover! Right around when the meat starts to feel heavy, a spoonful of this spicy broth completely resets your palate! It came with noodles too, so it was hearty enough to be a full meal.
Worth it for a Cheongna work dinner or date night
Wow.... after trying it myself, I totally understood why so many customers come here. It's great for a group dinner over delicious hanwoo, and it also looked perfect for a date with a bit of atmosphere! If you're looking for an Incheon Cheongna beef restaurant, a spot that grills beef for you, or a Cheongna group dinner venue, Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna will satisfy you!
The restroom was also clean and tidy — satisfied!
