Bread is so expensive these days that it feels daunting to put a bunch of things in the basket, right? So when I’m craving bread in Songdo, I tend to stop by Tomoru Bakery now and then.

An easy-to-find bakery in Songdo’s Second District

This bakery is in Songdo’s Second District, right on a corner, so you can see the shop from both sides and it’s easy to find. You may have spotted it at least once while passing nearby!

I’ve visited Tomoru Bakery a few times, and it’s fun to look around because there is such a wide variety of breads every time I go.

When bread lovers walk into a bakery, we can’t help doing a lap to see what’s there, haha. I’m the same—I browse all sorts of things and pick one or two each time.

The shop is kept neat too, so it feels pleasant overall.

Choices from meal breads to cookies

There are really so many kinds of bread, right??! A Dubai chocolate baguette... such an impossible-to-go-wrong combination.

There are plenty of breads, from meal breads to snackable options and cookies, so there’s lots to choose from even if you go with a child. The fruit cakes were piled high with fruit too, and looked delicious just sitting there, haha.

Clearly marked best items

Tomoru Bakery also has its BEST items marked separately: cucumber baguette, pollock roe and green onion baguette, chocolate baguette, and sweet pumpkin rice bread. I used to have the cucumber baguette and pollock roe and green onion baguette often, but I was way too full that day, so I passed...

Outside the shop, I could also see a plaque for a Korean Master Baker.

Tomoru Bakery says it uses organic flour, which was another nice point. When I’m choosing bread to eat with my child, I naturally take a second look at the ingredients and things like that, and I thought it would feel less burdensome for the whole family to enjoy together.

Terrace seating and shopping-complex parking

The staff were kind, and the shop itself was clean, so there was nothing uncomfortable while choosing bread. There are tables inside, plus terrace tables outside.

The weather has been just perfect lately, and whenever I passed by, I thought it would be lovely to sit here with bread and coffee.

Coffee was more affordable than I expected too, so getting coffee along with your bread doesn’t feel like a burden.

For parking, you can use the shopping-complex lot. It’s fairly spacious, so I didn’t have much trouble even when visiting by car. Parking can be something you quietly have to think about in Songdo, but this place was fine on that front too.

Fig bread and white rolls eaten at home

Once I got home and started eating, the fig bread was the first thing that caught my eye. Look at those big pieces of fig inside!

I also tried a white roll, which I’ve been really into lately, haha. If a white roll has too much cream, it gets rich as you eat it; but if there is too much bread, it’s dry and not great. Tomoru’s white roll had just the right amount of cream. The bread was moist and the cream wasn’t overly rich, so I really enjoyed it. Why are soft breads like this so delicious lately...

I also brought home one of the bakery-style chocolate cookies that my child always buys whenever we go to a bakery, haha. Kids just can’t walk past cookies like these. It was generously sized and tasty, so it was great to serve as a snack. I tried the coconut cookie that was out for tasting in the shop too, and it was so good that I briefly debated buying one. It might be nice to try samples and add one at a time on the next visit if you like the taste.

After visiting a few times, what I’ve felt is that there is a great variety of breads and the prices feel relatively manageable. These days, choosing only a few things at a bakery can add up quickly, but Tomoru Bakery is a decent place to choose a few different items and share them with family, so it’s an easy stop when I’m craving bread in Songdo.

The shop is clean, the coffee prices are reasonable, and parking is convenient, so it’s a place that often comes to mind when I’m looking for bread in Songdo.
