Songdo bakery for a fresh vegetable croquette meal: Tomoru Bakery
In short
Tomoru Bakery is a bakery in Yeonsu, Incheon, near Songdo Central Park. I packed an oversized fresh vegetable croquette for 4,300 won, bacon potato salt bread, and a just-baked baguette. Verdict: the filling fresh vegetable croquette makes Tomoru Bakery worth another stop.

I usually eat bread baked at home, but that just makes my standards higher when I occasionally buy some, you know? When I get a craving, I have the enthusiasm to seek out something delicious even if it is farther away, rather than going to the usual chain bakery near home. Haha. Somehow, that enthusiasm only ever blooms when food is involved.

A fresh vegetable croquette I found in Songdo
Tomoru Bakery is one of the bakeries I count among the good eats near Songdo Central Park. When I visited for the first time in a while, they had a fresh vegetable croquette I had not seen before... or maybe I was the only one who had missed it... haha. Today, you are the one.

It is called a fresh vegetable croquette, but it is a croquette as big as a hamburger bun, split open and generously stuffed like a burger with fresh vegetable salad and sliced ham. It was substantial enough for a full meal. At ₩4,300, it is far better value than most burgers. There are lots of academies nearby, so I could see it being popular as a meal for kids, too.

There were lots of varieties of salt bread, so I picked the bacon potato salt bread and enjoyed it as breakfast. After trying this, I wanted to taste every other flavor, too.
Tomoru Bakery location and takeaway

It is on the District 2 central shopping street in Songdo, where academies are concentrated. With academies, restaurants, and lots of apartments nearby, it is an area with plenty of foot traffic. The bus stop is right in front, so my daughter sometimes stops by to pick something up... and there is underground parking, which makes it perfect for me to drop in and buy bread after I have been out.

On this visit, they were also running a floury rice event from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs... Since everything here is baked and made in-house, they can do events like this. You can see the bread being made inside, which makes me trust the place even more.

That is why it feels so nice to buy things just as they come out of the oven. A baguette had just come out, so I happily grabbed one...

Their popular items apparently include Shanghai butter rice cake, basil tomato bread, and Blackie bread... Every single thing looks delicious, so choosing is always the hardest part here.

The fresh vegetable croquette is one of the popular items, too. It was in the refrigerator, which is probably why I did not see it last time. When I picked one up, it was satisfyingly heavy—I could tell right away it would make a filling meal. The white castella cream mammoth bread you see here is delicious, too...

The salt bread was also big and freshly baked. I picked up one of those as well...

With all these different salt bread options, it is fun to choose one at a time. Which one do you think I picked? The myeongran (seasoned pollock roe) and potato bacon flavors were neck and neck until the very end. Haha.

You know how retro snacks are popular these days under the “halmaenial” trend? Their twisted doughnuts and fresh doughnuts are delicious, too.

They also have cakes, from whole cakes to slices and roll cakes, making this somewhere to visit especially for birthdays.

In my heart, after making the trip to this Songdo Central Park bakery to buy bread for the first time in a while, I wanted to bring home everything... but I only packed as much as we could enjoy.

Still, it seems like quite a lot... haha. I could not leave out the milk loaf, of course. One bag for breakfast toast.

It is quite a spread once I laid it all out, right? The baguette I used for the bruschetta I introduced recently also came from right here. There is a Mont Blanc, too.
A fresh vegetable croquette filling even when shared

I think I will have to stop by again soon when I am passing this way because of this. I brought home only one and split it with my husband... and he actually gave me grief for buying just one. Haha.

It was quite large, so even splitting it in half was filling... but if you eat a whole one, I think it would genuinely leave you full as a meal. The vegetable salad packed tightly inside may be called vegetables, but it was seriously satisfying.

These old-fashioned twisted doughnuts and fresh doughnuts, with that halmaenial-snack feel, were the real deal too... the best I have had recently. There is a reason this place is considered such a good bakery near Songdo Central Park. Next time, I am sweeping up every other salt bread in the series. The myeongran green onion baguette and basil tomato bread, too... this bread lover has really gotten started. Haha.
