Inside Midonjip: atmosphere and seating
Midonjip has appeared on the TV show Sixth Sense and is famous for its aged pollack roe pork belly. Inside, soft lighting creates a cozy atmosphere with tables arranged mostly for groups of four. It's clean and comfortable — good for a date, and also great for families or company dinners.

There's also an outdoor tent-table area, perfect for enjoying delicious grilled meat with the cool autumn breeze these days.

By the time we finished eating and were heading out, the whole place was full! It's already a well-known spot in Guwol-dong.
There's also a sweet Wangsiwon coffee slush available for dessert on one side of the restaurant, perfect for cleansing the palate.

What side dishes come with the meal?
A generous array of side dishes pairs well with the meat. The basic banchan (side dishes) include napa cabbage kimchi, bracken fern, green onion kimchi, radish wraps, lettuce wraps, buckwheat jelly, shredded green onion, wild garlic greens, sauce, corn salad, and seasoned bean sprouts. Kimchi and bracken fern — both delicious grilled with the meat — come standard too.

You can check the menu and order via the tablet at each table, and there's also a large menu board on the wall.

What is in the 41,900 won Pork Set for Two?
Midonjip's main menu features the signature aged pollack roe pork belly, along with aged five-layer pork belly, aged pork neck, aged pork jowl, and aged gabrisal. There's a per-person Mi Set and Pork Set, each including pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, gabrisal, doenjang stew, and a drink, making them a good value option. Beyond the Mi Set and Pork Set, there are more filling options too — the Friend Set, Family Set, Gourmet Set, and Full Platter Set — worth checking out.
- Pork Set ₩41,900 — aged pollack roe pork belly 200g + mango pork jowl or gabrisal 200g + doenjang stew + drink
- Pollack roe rice (with a set) ₩5,000
We ordered the Pork Set for Two, which comes with Midonjip's signature aged pollack roe pork belly, plus a choice of pork jowl or gabrisal, doenjang stew, and a drink. We chose pork jowl over gabrisal. We also added the newly launched pollack roe rice bowl! It's a great value at ₩5,000 when ordered alongside a set.

Staff grill the pork at your table from start to finish
Midonjip uses only domestic Korean pork, so the meat quality is really good.

Staff grilled everything for us from start to finish, so all we had to do was sit back and enjoy. They laid out the aged pollack roe pork belly and pork jowl along with kimchi, bracken fern, and mushrooms on the grill.
Once the pork belly was cooked, fragrant minari (water celery) was piled on generously, making for an exciting-looking plate. Add nutty minari to pork belly and it's basically guaranteed to be delicious.
How does the pollack roe aged pork belly taste?
Pollack roe and pork belly — who would have thought? Midonjip's signature dish, aged pollack roe pork belly, lets you spread plenty of low-sodium pollack roe over aged pork belly before grilling. The low-sodium roe isn't as salty as regular pollack roe, making it a perfect match with the pork belly's rich flavor.

The pollack roe turns golden brown and pops in your mouth, pairing beautifully with the juicy meat.

They also serve myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce), which I love — unlike regular myeoljeot, this one has a strong doenjang flavor rather than a fishy one, so it's really tasty. There's also a spicy sauce and breadcrumbs served as standard, and dipping the meat in them felt like eating a juicy pork cutlet.

The chewy, springy pork jowl is also one of my favorites! Your mouth gets filled with that chewy texture.

Doenjang stew and the pollack roe rice bowl
The doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) included in the set is savory, deep, and rich — a real standout. And there's so much meat in it! I finished a whole bowl of rice with it.

You should definitely order the pollack roe rice bowl too, topped with a colorful mix of ingredients. The salty pollack roe pops in your mouth, blending harmoniously with kimchi, pickled radish, flying fish roe, seaweed flakes, and more.

Is Midonjip worth a visit?
Pork belly and pollack roe was a combination I'd never tried before, and it was so delicious that I want to go back again. The meat quality was great, and the staff grilled everything perfectly from start to finish — I left completely satisfied. If you're looking for a Korean BBQ restaurant in Guwol-dong, Incheon, I recommend Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch.
