In short
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch is a live-fish sashimi and seafood restaurant on Guwol-dong's Rodeo Street in Namdong, Incheon. Four family members came on a weekday for a younger sibling's birthday and ordered the lunch special sashimi set 'Mi,' which arrived with sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi, tempura, saury and spicy fish stew, alongside self-bar wraps, free ramen noodles and kimchi pancakes fried at the table. Today we came for lunch to celebrate my younger sibling's birthday, with our parents and sibling along. Let me introduce a place in Guwol-dong where you can enjoy a wide variety of fresh sashimi and seafood — Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch. Our whole family loves raw fish, so we picked this restaurant without a second thought.
Where is Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch, and what are its hours?

The address is 22 Inha-ro507beon-gil, 102-ho, Namdong-gu, Incheon. It's located on Guwol-dong's Rodeo Street, so it's easy to arrange to meet nearby before visiting.
Hours are daily 11:00–03:00, with last order at 02:00. That's welcome news for anyone looking for a late-night meal spot. Still, please check the latest business hours before you go.

Choosing fish from the tanks: seasonal assorted sashimi and raw shrimp
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch has multiple fish tanks packed with a wide variety of fish. If you want to share different kinds of sashimi with a group, go for the seasonal assorted platter or a flounder-and-rockfish combo; if you already know which fish you like, check out the single-fish sashimi menu.
Since it's fall, there was plenty of shrimp too. This place is known for its raw shrimp sashimi. I'll have to come back for salt-grilled shrimp and gizzard shad sashimi — such a fall craving.

We were thinking of getting the lunch special, and when we heard it comes with sashimi, sushi, tempura, and spicy fish stew, we got so excited!!!

On a cool day like today, eating at a table like this with that outdoor-tent feel seemed really nice.

Side dishes and what's on the self-bar at Veteran Guwol
The basic side dishes were set out, and

there's an additional self-bar you can use. Wraps, salad, kimchi, pickled garlic, and pickled ginger — take as much as you need.
Frying your own kimchi pancake (kimchijeon) at the table

And the first thing I really loved was that you can cook your own kimchi pancake. I love kimchi pancake, so... the batter turned out well, crispy and delicious.
What comes with the 'Mi' lunch special sashimi set for four?

We ordered the lunch special sashimi set 'Mi.' Crispy shrimp, sweet potato, and orange kabocha squash tempura came out first, then

the pollack roe side dish was delicious too. Eating it with a spoonful of hot rice — oh man~~~~

Ta-da!!! The main sashimi arrived. Thick-cut, chewy, and plenty for four people to eat.
There were also 8 pieces of sushi, and

the portion was generous and varied — I loved it.

Once the saury came out too, all that was left was to enjoy the meal^^

It was a weekday lunch, but there were quite a lot of diners. Sashimi restaurants like this usually get busy at dinner, but the lunch menu seemed to bring in a lot of customers too.
Can you see how thick the sashimi is?? Can you feel how plump and springy it looks???
They're also running a review event, so apply and try the review item too!
Spicy fish stew (maeuntang) with free ramen noodles

The second thing I was touched by was that you can add ramen noodles for free. Many places charge extra for ramen noodles, but here they're at the self-bar, so if you want, you can keep having more (?).
Korean people feel like a meal isn't complete without fried rice or noodles at the end, so even though we were full... we happily added ramen noodles and ate some more.
Is Veteran Guwol worth it for a family birthday lunch?

A weekday lunch family gathering was great, the sashimi was thick and delicious, and with the variety of side dishes and self-bar for extras, plus the DIY kimchi pancake and free ramen noodles, this was a restaurant that left our whole family satisfied.
