Haesanggung is a seafood kalguksu (noodle soup) and octopus restaurant at 411 Masiran-ro, Eulwangri 198, Yeongjong-gu, Incheon. It opens at 10am and closes at 9pm, is closed every Tuesday, and has parking spaces fully set up in front of and beside the restaurant.

Finally!!! Romi and Mango's first one-night, two-day trip 🚗 Looking for somewhere within an hour of Seoul, we landed on Yeongjong Island since it's close to Songdo, where my sibling lives. If things really went sideways, the plan was to take shelter at their place — that's how we picked Yeongjong for this trip.

Among all the restaurants we visited on our baby-and-large-dog trip, Haesanggung in Eulwangri, Yeongjong, was the one I was truly satisfied with — comfortable dining for both dog and baby, and you get to try seafood kalguksu, octopus stir-fry, and seafood pancake all at once.

It's just a 3-5 minute drive from Eulwangri Beach, Seonnyeobawi Beach, Wangsan Beach, Masiran Beach, Yongyu Beach, and the Inspire Resort, so it was easy to reach no matter where we were playing that day.

We visited on a weekday, early evening, so parking and seating felt a bit more relaxed.

The indoor tables were spaced well apart and kept clean, which made it clear this is a place that cares even after years of operating — this Eulwangri, Yeongjong restaurant, Haesanggung.

The Haesanggung outdoor terrace: room for a large dog and a baby

Haesanggung's outdoor terrace is laid out in an L-shape with quite a lot of tables and an awning for shade. We picked the terrace seating so we could sit with Mango, our large dog, and the weather had turned pleasantly cool — perfect for eating outside :) The set menus for two or three came together nicely, so we picked one and looked around outside while we waited.

The outdoor terrace is arranged in an L-shape with quite a number of tables, and I really liked that there's an awning providing shade.

The garden was tended with so much care, plant by plant.

In front of the terrace there's a little ride-on car for kids and a small photo zone, all set up like a light walking path.

It would have been even prettier with the hydrangeas in full bloom, but the cool weather made for a nice walk, so I took a shot with Romi. If there had been no clouds, the West Sea sunset view would have been perfect...!

What we ordered: the Haesanggung set for two, 57,000 won

The Haesanggung set for two is 57,000 won. It's a well-priced spread that lets you taste octopus stir-fry, whole octopus pancake, seafood kalguksu, and turmeric rice all together.

After walking a loop around the garden, the side dishes and food came out quickly. The sign said the kimchi is made in-house, and it was a perfect match with the kalguksu 👍

Wow! I actually gasped at the seafood pancake — it had a whole octopus inside! It was savory and crispy with great texture, and the octopus itself was so tender and plump it had a satisfying chew too — as delicious as it looked, this Eulwangri seafood pancake spot!

Octopus stir-fry with turmeric rice, spice level adjustable

The octopus stir-fry, served with healthy turmeric rice, had a deep, appetizing color right off the bat. They said it uses no artificial capsaicin at all — the sauce is made in-house by aging about ten ingredients including chili powder and garlic. It really had no artificial taste, just a well-balanced spiciness with plenty of plump octopus, a dish that sharpened the appetite.

Seafood kalguksu: clams piled on, clean broth

You could really taste the fresh sea in this one — chewy, fresh clams of various kinds packed the clean, refreshing broth. Paired with the mild but flavorful kimchi, the warm broth became even richer, and it went really well alongside the pancake and octopus stir-fry too.

Is Haesanggung worth it with a baby and a large dog?

So there it was, the Haesanggung set spread out in full 👍 The combination of seafood kalguksu, octopus stir-fry, and whole octopus pancake was so good it's a must-order set whenever you go to Eulwangri, Yeongjong. The octopus stir-fry's adjustable spice level means even spice-sensitive eaters can leave happy — a menu lineup I really loved, and everything was delicious across the board.

+ On top of that, it's a dog-friendly restaurant in Eulwangri, Yeongjong, where even our little baby could eat comfortably — truly satisfying. Highly recommend this Eulwangri favorite, Haesanggung!!

Even though the portions came out generous (these days Romi's suddenly gotten chattier and wants to look at and touch everything, insisting on 'joining the table' 🤣🤣 so I'm constantly hungry, haha), we were a little hungry too, but every single dish got completely finished 👍
