Yeongjong shabu-shabu lunch date, sujebi finish: Pyeonbaek Hoegwan
In short
Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Main Branch is an all-you-can-eat cypress steam and shabu-shabu restaurant on Haneulbyeolbit-ro in Yeongjong, Incheon. Arriving before 3 PM on a weekday brought the 17,900 won lunch price, which covered the salad bar, cypress-steamed dishes, shabu-shabu in two broths (katsuo and spicy mushroom), beef chuck and woo samgyeop (thin beef belly strips), and sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) at the end. For a weekday lunch date, Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Main Branch delivered both good value and a very full stomach.

I went on a weekday lunch date with my boyfriend after a while. 🤍 We were looking for something healthy but filling, and happily found this place with all-you-can-eat cypress steam and shabu-shabu.

How much is the weekday lunch? 17,900 won before 3 PM
The fact that you can enjoy this whole course for ₩17,900 if you visit for weekday lunch before 3 PM is amazing value! I was half excited, half worried whether it could really deliver on both value and taste — but I was completely satisfied on both counts!!!!
The regular price is already good, but it gets even better for weekday lunch, so if you love all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu but find the price a bit much, try visiting on a weekday lunch.

What's at the Pyeonbaek Hoegwan salad bar
Once you sit down and order at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Main Branch, they first set up the cypress steam for you. Instead of sitting still for the 10 minutes it takes to cook, I went straight to the salad bar. 🥗
There were light appetizers ready to go, perfect for whetting the appetite before the steam finished cooking. The sign said they only use the freshest ingredients every day, and you could see the cleanliness of the food at a glance.

Cypress-steamed dishes with a gentle herbal aroma
After 10 minutes, when we opened the lid, the aroma of 12 medicinal herbs and cypress wood spread out and felt wonderful. ✨ Dipping the well-cooked meat generously into the soy sauce, the clean yet savory flavor filled my mouth.

In particular, wrapping meat and vegetables generously in fresh rice paper and eating it with savory peanut sauce was the combination that suited my taste best.

My boyfriend also ate happily, saying it was hearty but easy on the stomach.

Two broths in one pot: katsuo and spicy mushroom shabu-shabu
Once we finished the cypress steam, the real shabu-shabu time began. There were five broths to choose from, and we picked the clean katsuo broth and the spicy mushroom broth. 🍲 Loading up on napa cabbage and mushrooms made the broth much more refreshing and deep.

Alternating between the clean beef chuck and savory woo samgyeop, lightly cooking each, had a magical taste that never got old, and we just kept eating.

Finishing with sujebi, the carb course Koreans call dessert
You can finish with kalguksu noodles or porridge, but we were too full and sadly couldn't manage any carbs. Haha. I guess that just means there was so much to eat — and that we didn't pace ourselves well. Haha.
Instead, we added a bit of sujebi, which was also chewy and had soaked up the shabu-shabu broth nicely, so it was delicious. Still, next time I'll have to try the kalguksu noodles and porridge.

Easy parking in Yeongjong, including the Jinro Mart lot
We drove there, and besides the building's own parking lot, we were also able to use the Jinro Mart parking lot right next door. Parking support applies the same way if you park at Jinro Mart, so even nervous new drivers should feel comfortable visiting. 🚗

The store's notice said to wear loose, comfortable pants, and I completely understood why after such an overwhelming amount of food. We were so full it was hard to breathe, but it was a satisfying and substantial meal.
