Goyang soup restaurant with free black rice refills: Jeju Eunhui-ne
In short
Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch is a Korean restaurant near Samsong Station and Starfield Goyang serving Jeju-style seonji (beef blood) haejangguk (hangover soup) and dombe pork (boiled sliced pork). On this visit the dombe pork was sold out, so only haejangguk and tripe soup were ordered, and an extra bowl of black rice came free with each meal while the earthenware pots stayed hot to the last spoonful. Anyone hoping for the dombe pork set should visit Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch a little earlier in the day.

Today I visited a Goyang Starfield-area favorite, Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch.
This Samsong haejangguk (hangover soup) spot lets you enjoy Jeju-style beef blood haejangguk together with dombe pork (Jeju-style boiled pork slices). You can order both the blood soup and the pork, and the portions are generous enough to leave you full. Unfortunately, on the day I visited the dombe pork was sold out, so I'll have to come earlier next time to try it.🥲
Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch: hours and parking
The restaurant is open Monday 10:00–15:30, Tuesday to Friday until 22:00, and Saturday–Sunday 09:00–22:00. Last order is 30 minutes before closing, so keep that in mind.

For parking, you can use the Eugene's World City Samsong building where the restaurant is located, and you get 1 hour free.

Here's the exterior — there's even a cute dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue) out front giving off strong Jeju vibes, haha.

Dombe pork sold out: ordering haejangguk and tripe soup instead
The menu board also had set menus. I wanted to order the dombe pork set, but it was sold out — such a bummer.ㅠㅠ It must sell out fast because it's so good.🥲

So we ordered 1 haejangguk and 1 tripe soup! Since a rice refill is free with a single order, this is great news for big eaters. And if you can't eat beef blood, just ask them to leave it out before ordering!

Side dishes and the free black rice bowl
The basic side dishes were chili peppers, seasoned soybean paste, and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) — you scoop as much kkakdugi as you want, and it was crunchy with a nicely fermented flavor that went great with the soup. Heads up, the chili peppers are real cheongyang chili, so they're genuinely spicy!

The rice bowl wasn't plain white rice — it came as black rice! I love black rice, so that made me happy, haha.

How did the tripe soup and haejangguk taste?
The dishes arrived soon after — first the tripe soup, then the haejangguk. The tripe soup broth was a light red, topped generously with scallions and chili flake seasoning, and they gave us a separate dipping sauce for the meat — dipping the meat in it was a great match and really tasty, haha. It seemed to be a sauce served only with the tripe soup! The broth was rich and deep, and there were two big pieces of beef blood in it too.

The haejangguk was packed with glass noodles, meat, bean sprouts, and more — really generous. I especially loved that the stone pot came out piping hot, so it stayed warm until the last spoonful. Once you stir it, the minced seasoning dissolves and turns the broth red, giving it a spicy, deep flavor that felt like it would really cure a hangover. The haejangguk also had two big pieces of beef blood.

Inside the restaurant: seating and amenities
The interior gave off Jeju vibes, complete with a map of Jeju Island on the wall! The floor-to-ceiling windows let in great natural light too.

Near the front of the restaurant there was a self-serve station with the seasoned soybean paste, mint candies, a coffee machine, and a baby chair. The mint candies were a really nice way to freshen up after the meal!

Takeout: what you get and what costs extra
There were autographs from celebrities on the wall, along with takeout information — takeout is packaged uncooked, and rice is sold separately. Something to keep in mind if you're getting food to go!
Overall, Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch, a favorite near Goyang Starfield, was a great spot with a strong Jeju atmosphere and a hot, generous bowl of haejangguk that left me full and satisfied. If you're craving Jeju-style haejangguk in Goyang, or looking for a Samsong haejangguk restaurant to visit, I recommend giving Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch a try.
