Parking and first impressions at Pine Terrace in Wondang, Goyang

Pine Terrace is a large two-story bakery café in Wondang, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. The weather's been nice lately and I wanted to spend some relaxed time at a café, so this time I went to Pine Terrace in Goyang haha.

I drove there, and the first thing I liked was that the parking lot was spacious, so parking was easy. Parking is always a low-key stress when going to cafés, but here there was plenty of space, so it was fine to drive. As I parked and walked toward the café, I noticed the building had black glass windows across two floors, which looked pretty clean even from outside.

Overall the exterior was fairly modern, and true to a bakery café, the place had a decent size to it. Most of all, I liked the first-floor space haha. It has floor-to-ceiling windows, but the interior is slightly dim, which actually made it feel comfortable. I prefer a slightly calm atmosphere like this over cafés where the sunlight is too strong. Sunlight came in softly by the window, and the whole place felt quiet — good for sitting down and relaxing with some bread.

What bread does Pine Terrace sell, and how much does it cost?

As soon as I walked into the first floor of Pine Terrace, the bread was the first thing that caught my eye haha. The bakery lineup was way more varied than I expected, so it took quite a while just to walk around and look. If you're someone who loves bread, picking just one wouldn't be easy hahaha. There was everything from anbutter (sweet red bean and butter) pastry to soboru (crumble bread), ciabatta, toast bread, Mont Blanc, bagels, and sandwiches.

Basque cheesecake 7.5, Choux cream Mont Blanc 9.5, Salmon bagel 10.0, Jambon bagel 9.5 — that's roughly what was there. There was a separate sandwich section too, so it seemed fine to come here for a simple meal too.

Beyond that there was choco conch bread 7.5, milk soft roll 6.5, onion bread 6.5, giant mambos bread 8.0, potato & sausage 7.0

Alligator bread 8.0, Donggook rice bread 8.5, and quite a few more. The bread names weren't just plain ones — there were some pretty unusual names too, so it was fun just browsing hahaha. I agonized for a while and ended up picking the giant mambos bread and the anbutter pastry. For a drink, I ordered fresh kiwi juice.

How does Pine Terrace's fresh kiwi juice taste?

Pine Terrace's fresh kiwi juice was way more tart than I expected hahaha. I took a sip before eating the bread, and the sharp, tangy kiwi flavor really came through, so if you're expecting something sweet, it might catch you off guard a bit. I personally like tart fruit drinks, so it was fine for me, but yeah, it was genuinely sour hahaha.

Actually, it paired really well when eaten together with the bread. Since the bread tends to be sweet, sipping the kiwi juice in between made my mouth feel refreshed! If you're looking for a drink to pair with sweet bread, this kind of fruit juice seems like a solid choice.

Tasting the giant mambos bread and anbutter pastry

Of the breads I picked, the one I personally found interesting was the giant mambos bread (8.0). Just looking at it, the bread was quite large — genuinely giant, living up to its name hahaha. Inside there was strawberry jam and cream, plus a green portion that seemed like sweet pea paste. I'm not sure exactly what ingredient it was, but overall it had a mellow sweetness.

The outside had a slightly soboru-like texture, so eating it together with the soft filling gave it a nice bite too. The sweetness of the strawberry jam combined with the cream, and the outside was nutty with a slight crunch, so it seemed like it would go well with coffee too. I personally like this kind of sweet bread, so I enjoyed it haha. It was big enough that ordering one to share among several people would work fine too.

I also picked the anbutter pastry (8.0), a combination I love. Red bean and butter is hard to make bad haha. The pastry had its signature flaky layers intact, so the first bite had that crispy-yet-soft texture.

Inside there was red bean and butter, and the sweetness of the red bean paired well with the nutty, soft butter. Since it had pastry texture layered on top of a regular bread, it was more fun to eat. The outside kept its layered texture and was slightly crispy, while the inside felt moist from the butter! Since I love anbutter, I enjoyed this one too haha. If you're looking for a Goyang bakery café with a wide variety of breads and a relaxed place to sit and eat, Pine Terrace is worth checking out.

First floor or second floor: where should you sit?

After picking bread and ordering a drink on the first floor of Pine Terrace, I went up to check out the second floor too. The second floor is also fairly spacious, so there seemed to be plenty of seats for a larger group. Especially if you're coming with family or a group of friends, this larger space seemed convenient to use.

Overall, I personally preferred the first-floor atmosphere at Pine Terrace, where the bakery display blends with the floor-to-ceiling windows. Since it's slightly dim, it was also good for taking photos of the bread and drinks on the table. The natural light coming through the window was soft too, so it wasn't overly bright or overwhelming, which I liked.
