Sundae, mala pork noodles at Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol, Jeju
In short
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is an ocean-view pork noodle restaurant on Aewol-ro in Jeju, Jeju. A family of three shared bone-broth pork noodles, mala pork noodles, and Namju Foods' leek pork sundae, and even the daughter who rarely eats noodles ate it all up. With floor-to-ceiling ocean-view seating, a baby chair, and a self-serve side dish bar, it worked well for a lunch with kids.

Aewol — Jeju's hip neighborhood, wrapped in emerald sea and beautiful coastal road. It's a spot you can't skip on a Jeju trip. And the local food that lets you soak in Jeju's moist, salty charm alongside that gorgeous coastline is none other than gogi-guksu (pork noodle soup)!
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch is an ocean-view restaurant where every table gets a taste of beautiful Jeju. It's a local favorite in Aewol serving pork noodles so good you'll forget the scenery outside for a second. I personally enjoyed it so much that I'm definitely coming back next time I'm here~!
Location and parking at Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch

Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch sits in the Aewol café district, near the Aewol coastal road that's beloved as a west-Jeju driving course. It's not far from Gwakji Beach, and it's close to Eco Green Resort where we often stay. There's parking space in front of the restaurant, but it's only 3 spots, so it's not very spacious. Right next door, Handam Public Parking Lot (Landy's Donuts parking) and Handam Trail Parking Lot give you 1 hour free~ Given it's a noodle place, tables turn over pretty quickly though.

Jeju weather is great again today haha

I was worried there'd be no parking, but two spots opened up right away haha
Interior mood, floor-to-ceiling ocean view, and baby chairs

There was a shade tent set up in front of the restaurant, and I wondered why — but after eating the pork noodles, I got it right away: this place probably gets a long wait during meal times. Though since it's noodles, the wait probably isn't too long.

Tamnaneun-jeon accepted, Toss Pay accepted.

Open the door and step inside, and the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows is stunning. Pork noodles eaten with a Jeju ocean view.. how could it not be delicious. haha

The floor-to-ceiling windows make it feel so open and breezy~

There's a baby chair available~

There's a self-serve bar for basic side dishes~ Fitting for a noodle restaurant, the kimchi was really tasty.

Wow.. look at that view. This is why people come to Jeju haha. An ocean view where green and blue blend together.

Bone-broth pork noodles, mala pork noodles, and leek pork sundae

Bone-broth pork noodles and a bowl of rice for me and my daughter to share, leek pork sundae for my husband who loves it, and mala pork noodles, my pick. A mala-flavored pork noodle riding today's trend — had to try it~ haha

Alright, let's eat quick~

Whoa, look at that amount of meat haha. Yeah, that's what pork noodles are supposed to look like~ Milky, richly simmered bone broth base is really good for kids to eat too.

Honestly my daughter doesn't really like noodles, so I usually just give her rice in the broth.. but she ate Handam Guksu's pork noodles well~!! So touched. Her dad especially loves the noodles a lot.. so he was even more touched haha

The mala pork noodles, now this — this is the real deal. Whoa, the mala flavor goes surprisingly well with it.

The leek pork sundae isn't the usual glass-noodle sundae — it's packed tight with meat and leek vegetables, made by Namju Foods, a renowned local sundae maker, apparently. This particular sundae is a special one you can only find at Handam Guksu and Bibari Sundaeguk~!

Whoa, this tastes really good~ Even though I was full, it kept going down smoothly. Definitely coming back for this haha
