Cheongchuni Oranda Dongmun Market Main Branch Tapdong is easy to find right after you walk in through Gate 2 or Gate 9 of Dongmun Market in Jeju. From Jeju International Airport it's about 🚌 25 minutes by bus or 🚗 15 minutes by car.

Following the nutty smell to a crowded oranda counter

Dongmun Market is a must on any Jeju trip!! There's so much food and so much to see that you lose track of time — and while wandering around, I caught this savory, sweet smell drifting through the air 😊

I followed it like I was hypnotized, and there was already a crowd gathered 🤭

What is it, what is it, now I'm curious too???! I peeked in and it turned out to be piles of handmade oranda!?

Cheongchuni Oranda has 5 flavors alone, and they even have a really pretty donut-shaped oranda!!

They've also got a variety of gwajul (rice puff snacks) ready to go 😆

Inside the shop, the young owner was hard at work making handmade oranda 😊

Tasting the samples: crisp on the outside, not rock hard

Cheongchuni Oranda has a whole sampling corner with different flavors, so you can taste before choosing! I drifted over as if pulled and took a bite — genuinely soft and moist 👍

Sometimes when I eat oranda it's so hard it scrapes the roof of my mouth and I give up halfway through, but the Cheongchuni Oranda I sampled was actually soft and crisp when you bit into it, with a subtle flavor and aroma from the ingredients, so it didn't get tiring at all.

How much does square oranda cost at Cheongchuni Oranda?

For the square oranda, yuzu, nut, and garlic are ₩3,500, while Udo peanut and gamtae (sea moss) are ₩4,000. Buy 3 and it's ₩10,000–11,000. Prices for the gwajul and donut oranda may vary.

After some deliberating, I ended up buying all 5 flavors of the square oranda, plus all 4 flavors of the rice puff gwajul 👍

The gwajul flavors are steamed rice, buckwheat, brown rice, and white rice.

What does the yuzu oranda taste like?

Out of everything, I was most curious about the yuzu oranda, so I tried that first.

As soon as I tore open the plastic, a wave of that nutty oranda scent hit me 😊 It's cut into bite-sized pieces, so it's easy to pull off one piece at a time.

Soft yet crisp, with a bright citrusy yuzu scent — sweet and nutty oranda 👍 Since it's individually wrapped, it makes a great gift too, and it tastes so good that it's perfect as a snack for kids or as a souvenir 😆
