A pork noodle restaurant in Jeju's Aewol that wins on both value and taste, popular with locals — every seat has floor-to-ceiling windows with an ocean view right outside, making it a great place to eat: Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch.
Where to park at Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch
For parking, you can use the public lot near the restaurant or the public lot at Aewol Handam Park about 250m away — just note there aren't many spaces. (Free parking!)

Floor-to-ceiling windows everywhere, ocean visible even at sunset
Stepping inside, the interior felt clean and bright overall, and since the whole restaurant is lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, you get an unobstructed ocean view out toward Jeju's sea. Even though I visited after the sun had set, the ocean was still faintly visible, so I could enjoy my meal with a pleasant ocean view — it seems like a great place to visit with family or on a date 😊

There are also kids' chairs available inside for convenience, so visiting with a child wouldn't be a problem at all, and there are aprons placed around the restaurant so you can eat soup dishes comfortably without getting your clothes dirty!

There's also in-store Wi-Fi installed, so I could connect and use fast internet!

Menu lineup and tablet ordering
This is the menu at Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch. For the main menu, they sell several dishes including beef bone broth pork noodles, mala pork noodles, dongchimi (radish water kimchi) bibim noodles, and lean pork rice soup — true to Jeju style, every menu item includes dombe-gogi (Jeju-style boiled pork) served as noodles with a distinctive twist, and for side dishes they also sell dombe naengsuyuk (cold sliced pork), house-made pork tteokgalbi (short rib patties), and pork mandu (dumplings)!

For ordering, there's a tablet installed at every table, so I could order comfortably right from my seat, and

we ordered mala pork noodles, beef bone broth pork noodles, and lean pork rice soup here!

Self-serve side dishes: three refills of pickled radish strips
While waiting for our order, there was a self-serve side dish bar where you could go grab your own side dishes,

and there were various side dishes like pickled radish strips (mu-mallaengi jangajji), kimchi, and peppers — the pickled radish strips and kimchi were unbelievably good, and they went so well with the noodles and rice soup that I refilled them three times… 👍

Lean pork rice soup, extra good after a swim
After a short wait, the dishes we ordered arrived. First, the lean pork rice soup had that rich, distinctive pork flavor in the broth without being too greasy, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy, and it came generously loaded with lean pork that went well with the rice — eating it warm right after swimming made it taste even better 👍

Mala pork noodles
Next was the mala pork noodles, a type of pork noodle I'd never seen before, so it felt different. Tasting it, the base was the savory, rich flavor of the beef bone broth, with the distinctive aroma and slightly numbing taste of mala added on top — it clearly has a different charm from typical pork noodles, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves mala flavors!!!

Beef bone broth pork noodles
Lastly, the beef bone broth pork noodles had that distinctive savory, rich flavor of bone broth, and the soup went down cleanly without being murky or greasy — which I really liked. It had a deep flavor like it had been simmered for a long time, and the Jeju pork on top was soft and mild, so it was delicious eaten together with the noodles 😊

Mixing in a bowl of rice
The bowl of rice we also ordered came generously packed full, so the portion was quite large. I tried mixing it straight into the pork noodles right away, and it felt filling like eating a rice soup — eating it together with the kimchi side dish made it taste twice or three times better. There was so much food that I left feeling happily full 😁

Receipt review event and Tamnaneun-jeon payment
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch was also running a Naver receipt review event, giving out a Jeju specialty crunch snack as a gift for writing a receipt review — I wrote a receipt review and got a crunch snack too! (Write a review and get a crunch snack too 😊)

Lastly, you could also pay with Tamnaneun-jeon, and since you can both earn and use Tamnaneun-jeon there, pay with it and get 10% cashback!
Wrap-up
A must-visit pork noodle restaurant in Aewol where every seat has an ocean view, so you can eat with a great view, and they make quality food at low prices, drawing many locals — I recommend this Jeju local favorite, Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch!
