Black pork cubed pork jowl and mustard kimchi noodles: Dolgyeok

In short

Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a Jeju-style garlic hanwoo (Korean beef) rib restaurant near Jeju Airport, in Yeondong, Jeju City. The order was two servings of 1++ manong (garlic) galbisal at ₩27,000 per 100g, black pork cubed pork jowl (180g, ₩22,000), and mustard leaf kimchi bibim noodles (₩10,000), served with a house soy sauce, kimchi, and a complimentary seaweed soup. The thick-cut pork jowl paired with the mustard kimchi noodles was the standout combo for cutting through the richness after the beef.

A hanwoo (Korean beef) review from a restaurant in Jeju City, Dolgyeok Hanwoo.

I want to introduce a spot near Jeju Airport where you can get garlic hanwoo ribs — a place made famous by the YouTuber Tzuyang. I visited Dolgyeok Hanwoo (돌격한우), a Jeju-style manong (garlic) hanwoo rib specialist!

Apparently this is a place that newly launched Jeju-do galbi in 2026, and since I heard YouTuber Tzuyang visited, I'd been saving it excitedly — finally made it to 'Dolgyeok Hanwoo.'

🅿️Parking: The building's private lot, the lot right next door, and Sinjeju public parking are all available

The atmosphere and basic table setting

A comfortable interior with wide gaps between tables — as soon as we ordered, they neatly set out charcoal fire along with wild garlic leaf, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), seasoned radish, lettuce wraps, scallion salad, and scallion kimchi.

Today's order

  • Manong galbisal 1++, 100g, ₩27,000 / 2 servings
  • Black pork cubed pork jowl, 180g, ₩22,000 / 1 serving
  • Mustard kimchi bibim noodles, ₩10,000

Manong galbisal 1++, two servings — the garlic and butter combo

The main event we ordered! Manong galbisal 1++, 100g (₩27,000), two servings arrive. Top-grade 1++ hanwoo, so the marbling is truly a work of art...

The moment it hits your mouth, true to 1++ hanwoo, the juices burst and the meat feels like it melts with softness! Every bite of the manong garlic has that sharp bite while the buttery, nutty aroma of real Jeju garlic spreads richly — the savory garlic and butter combo is seriously so, so good.

The house soy sauce and kimchi

The house soy sauce that came with it was the perfect textbook of sweet-and-salty! The moderately sweet, salty special soy sauce with finely chopped scallions and peppers has a sharp bite, and even meeting the rich hanwoo juices it delivers a sweet-spicy umami without any greasiness — the best soy sauce I've ever had.

The kimchi's visuals are genuinely insane... Whenever things felt a touch rich, piling on the kimchi and taking a bite made it clear this place is also a kimchi spot — I cleaned that kimchi right out!

After feasting our eyes on hanwoo, straight into the black pork cubed pork jowl, 180g (₩22,000)! Look at the visuals of the thickly cubed Jeju black pork jowl... The thickness is on another level, so grilled on the pan it sears crisp on the outside while trapping the juices inside — bouncy, chewy texture and flavor with every bite, truly a work of art. I think this is easily the best black pork I've ever had!

The complimentary beef seaweed soup

Beef seaweed soup comes complimentary. Even though it's free, it beats most dedicated seaweed soup restaurants — savory and clean, I mixed rice into it and polished off a whole bowl happily.

Mustard kimchi bibim noodles: not optional, essential

A side dish while eating meat is not optional, it's essential! Mustard kimchi bibim noodles (₩10,000). Tangy, well-fermented mustard leaf kimchi is piled generously on top as a garnish, and the sauce has a great balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy! The mustard kimchi's distinct bitter, refreshing bite stays alive, and washing it down with the chewy somyeon noodles clears away any richness from the meat. Wrapping a well-grilled piece of pork jowl or manong galbisal into the mustard kimchi bibim noodles is basically a heavenly experience, T_T.
