This is the place I headed to right after landing in Jeju. I was hunting for somewhere to have my first meal near the airport, and honestly, starting a Jeju trip with warm rice and grilled fish felt pretty satisfying.

If you're also looking for somewhere to eat breakfast near Jeju airport, this might be worth keeping in mind.

Fish being grilled over charcoal in front of the restaurant

Out front, they kept grilling fish nonstop. Since it was all cooked over charcoal, the smell of grilled fish was already thick in the air as I walked up — and that smell alone made me hungrier before I even stepped inside.

Inside, Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch is on the cozy side overall. The tables are mostly set up for four, which seemed fine for a family meal.

They also had a baby chair ready, so it looked like a good option for anyone traveling with a kid and searching for good food near Jeju airport.

The basic side dishes are set on the table at first, and you can grab more yourself if you run low. Being able to freely refill was nice, and the side dishes paired really well with the grilled fish and rice.

Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch's set meals start at ₩26,000 for two people. You can choose the assorted fish or a single fish type, then pair it with braised dishes, pork, or stew — I liked that flexibility.

Rather than just ordering grilled fish on its own, getting stew and side dishes together felt like solid value if you're looking for good grilled fish near Jeju airport on a budget.

Review event guide for steamed egg, gophchang gim, and highball

They were also running a review event. You could get things like steamed egg, gophchang gim (seasoned seaweed snacks), or a highball, so if you're eating here, it's worth joining. I always try to take part in review events like this, so keep it in mind :)

Five basic side dishes: eggplant namul, fried fish cake stir-fry, braised soybeans, kkakdugi, bean sprouts

The five side dishes and the cheonggukjang stew

The basic side dishes that day were five in total: eggplant namul, fried fish cake stir-fry, braised soybeans, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and bean sprouts. They all paired nicely with the grilled fish, one bite at a time.

Piling fish flesh onto warm rice with the side dishes felt like eating home-cooked food in Jeju.

A hearty bowl of cheonggukjang stew

For stew, you could choose cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), sundubu jjigae, or kimchi jjigae — I went with cheonggukjang. It came pretty loaded with ingredients, so it was good for spooning up between bites of grilled fish.

Full set meal spread with grilled fish, stew, and side dishes

With the grilled fish, stew, and side dishes all laid out together, the spread was way more generous than I expected. Plenty for two people to share, and it seemed like a solid choice for a filling first meal after landing in Jeju.

Assorted grilled fish plate with mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and tilefish

Is the ₩2,000 tilefish swap on the assorted grilled fish worth it?

The assorted fish I ordered normally comes with mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and yellow croaker. But you can pay an extra ₩2,000 to swap the croaker for tilefish, which is what I did.

Since I was in Jeju, I wanted to try tilefish too, so I made the swap — and getting to taste several kinds of fish at once is really the advantage of ordering the assorted set.

The fish had a glossy sheen that looked really appetizing. Taste-wise, it was seasoned just right — not too salty, perfect with rice.

Putting a piece of fish on hot rice, I kept going back for more. Being able to try mackerel, cutlassfish, flounder, and tilefish all at once makes the assorted set a great order if you're a fan of grilled fish.

Since the set comes with stew and side dishes alongside the grilled fish, it felt like a full spread, and starting at ₩26,000 for two, it wasn't a heavy price either.
