Thick hair full down perm and drop cut at Bupyeong Ieum Men's Hair

My partner's hair kept getting shaggier, so I took him in for a proper cut to clean things up..! Here's my honest review of Ieum Men's Hair Bupyeong, where we were super happy with the cut and down perm from designer Lee Yoon :)

Outside the shop

It's right on the main line of Bupyeong Culture Street, so it's easy to get to, and since it's next to Myeongryang Hotdog, we found it easily even on our first visit..! It's on the 3rd floor of a blue building — just head up the stairs ✨

What's the vibe inside?

The first thing that caught my eye walking in was the green view‼️ Thanks to the greenery through the windows, the shop didn't feel cramped at all — it felt open and relaxed. Everything inside was bright and neatly arranged, and each styling seat was individual, which was great! There were figures and anime-related items placed here and there that clearly reflect the owner's taste, and these little details blended nicely with the overall vibe, making it fun to look around :)

At the counter you could also spot some Miel hair products. The restroom is inside the shop, so just head that way if you need it!

While my partner was getting his treatment, I waited in the waiting area, and they'd thoughtfully set up charging ports at each seat, so I didn't have to worry about my phone battery while I waited,, 👍

This time we got treated by designer Lee Yoon. Prices under designer Lee Yoon were

The full down perm + drop cut process

He hadn't been to a salon in a while, so his hair had grown out quite a bit, right? The designer looked closely at his current hair condition before starting the consultation. Since his scalp is a bit reddish, she initially suggested doing just the sides instead of a full down perm. But,,, since his hair is thick and tends to grow fast, after some thought we decided to go with the full down perm after all 👏👏

He's not really into drastic style changes, so this time we settled on full down perm + drop cut‼️ It was great that she explained the direction based on what actually suits his current hair condition.

While I was briefly distracted by my phone, the cut was already nearly done..! Designer Lee Yoon's hands are so fast 👍👍 The lines were super clean and my partner already had that satisfied smile on his face haha

True to Bupyeong's reputation for down perms, the sides were pressed down cleanly with no flyaways, and the front and back lines were locked in place like glue.

Lately he hasn't been sleeping well and the heat has been coming back up to his scalp, which had been my biggest concern, but she checked his scalp condition and recommended a weakly acidic shampoo, which I really appreciated..👍 It felt like she cared not just about the service itself but about his everyday hair care too, which made the whole experience feel even more thoughtful :)

Especially for the back, the designer personally guided how short it should go to still look natural and whether it was okay for skin to show, and thanks to that it came out perfectly with no white skin showing 🫶

The style wasn't changed drastically, but the down perm and drop cut alone clearly created a much cleaner impression. Best of all, even if you don't know exactly what style you want, they'll consult with you and find a direction that suits you, so if you're wondering where to get a men's haircut, this place is worth a visit.
